Normal light bulbs.

Is there anywhere in Ireland where i can buy normal non energy saving indoor light bulbs like the ones they had years and years ago,60watt,100watt.
Only place i have seen them in the last few years was in aldi once,where they were selling them as shed lights or something.
I want real light bulbs in my home,not these crap expensive energy saving light bulbs.

However if your not , Pete's of Parnell Street closed in 2013.

LED lamps should also have an extremly long life, or would have if it wasn't for the bastard manufacturers building in a life shortening "feature".

Planned obsolescence is a real pain.

It's worse when driving in fog. The old sodium discharge lights gave a yellow light and you could see relatively well in fog, now you are driving into fog with overhead white light making it nearly impossible to see.

We have done, nothing out of the ordinary showing up.

Well, nothing other than a small mortgage to replace bulbs every few weeks. Two different electricians looked and found nothing.

Nothing is made to fail. Everything has a design life and for led and energy saving bulbs it's multiples of an incandescent bulb. If they are failing regularly then there's something wrong with the place they are fitted, not multiple bulbs.

Please look at the video I posted above and review, the design life is another way of saying they're made to fail after a certain amount of time.

Incandescent bulbs also had a designed life expectancy - designed to fail. I have LED bayonet fit light bulbs in constant use for years now. The average life is close to 10 years.

FWIW, when i'm painting (walls etc.) I'm much prefer an incandescent to a LED. You do not get 100% CRI with an LED bulb.

Dealz sell LED bulbs for €1.50

Fix the ventilation on the housing to solve the real problem.

At the very least replace the component with one of the same rating.

You've got a dodgy appliance somewhere in the house..I found an electric kettle was doing something similar,using too much electricity due to a loose wire in the plug.

That is not a fusable resistor, it is an underrated resistor that shortens the life of the lamp, if there was a fault it would have gone bang when he bypassed it!
