Labour Saving and General Guntering

How about using this thread to show off our engineering skills (or lack of!)
A lot of us have home made or improvised labour saving tools / implements lying around. Similar to stuff in Farmers Journal labour saving compettions. (without the prize money:p).

Maybe we could use this thread to share interesting ideas and discuss improvements.

I don't have any pictures at the moment of my own but I will take some at the weekend if not before.

My own projects include:
Quick hitch for front loader (fairly rough but works), designed to fit Trima implements onto MF loader.
Adapter to fit bale lifter onto front loader.
Various other loader attachments spikes etc.

Current project is a wrapped bale transporter being built out of remains of an old Muck Spreader. (only just started, currently just an axle and draw bar).

Their maybe other stuff around too, I'll have to have a look.

So what are peoples opinions, is this a good idea for a thread?

Also sacrificial anodes in marine supply shops, but they're crazy expensive for lumps of metal.

10c coins would be an interesting one to try - they're copper/aluminium/zinc/nickel

Yea, the better ones you can take out the light. The crappier ones go straight in the wash and will probably survive anyway.

Handy but won’t beat a good head lenser head tourch.(well might keep your head warmer

Yes at Christmas light last an hour or bit less easy to charge in radio USB cap is warm its worth it

I put on hat, then lenser head torch over it. Warm and you can see where u are going!

It's only a novelty, a toy if you like but if you persistently need to be wearing a torch for more than an hour it's probably more general/yard etc lighting you need for safety,
The cap isn't something you wear for something like wiring a plug, It'd stop you tripping, OH wears it for walking around the yard if she's out for a short while....I find the cap too warm

Wear it if I’m just out about.

If I’m doing anything I wear the better head torch as the beam is directional, it also has the red led which is handy on the tractor feeding at night, the red lights things up in the cab without blinding you with reflection in the window.

Id have a very well lit yard, only in the last few years mind. But I'd still use headtorch for everything bar when in tractor as there are always shadows.
All my feeding is done in the dark. Hard to see what silage is like at feed barrier with fluorescents in over the cattle at half9-10 O'clock at night. Also wouldn't dream of getting up to pull back silage cover without head torch even though l have a good floodlight on pole that l can swivel.
