Wouldn't be surprised if there was a will ask claim also..... Probably 10 in the car when claim goes in.

This from a solicitors site

Any person whose image has been recorded on a CCTV camera has the right to a copy of the footage. This is in accordance with the Data Protection Act and can be got from the data controller. In order to obtain a copy of the footage, a person must make an application in writing to the data controller. The cost of a data access request can be up to €6.35. The data controller must respond within 40 days of the request being made.

Depends on the vehicle really ..... my sorento is on 19s but the thing is almost as long as a landcruiser. It doesn't have the clearance of a 4x4 and the 19s are just right. Others I've seen with 17s and even 18s don't look well at all.

Of course some cars will look overwheeled on 19s.

I fitted new rear lights to my car a few weeks back. They were from the facelift model so had more LEDs than those they replaced. The car not knowing it had LEDs was still sending check signals to the rear which caused a little disco show when the car was started which I didn't mind too much. But the other day I was behind the car when it was running and didn't realise the frequency that the car was checking the bulbs once on. Random little blinks of different LEDs every 30s or so. I thought I needed esys to code this out with a laptop and was waiting to meet a guy I know to do this. Problem is he's at the far end of the country. I realised tonight that bimmercode can do this, so bought it through the play store for 30 quid. Really straightforward app to use, so got the rear electronic module updated so it knows the lights are LEDs so no more blinking lights. Someone might have thought I was indicating FFS, and we all know beamers don't do that. Did a few other minor tweaks like disable start stop which will be useful.

I was just literally asking another member had they Carly as my fiance's 1 series is showing a bulb warning even though I've replaced the bulb. Can Bimmercode erase fault codes too?

What year is it? I think you can disable/enable bulb checks for individual bulbs front and rear. Disabling the rear is what I did tonight. I had no errors on dash but it was causing the LEDs to blink.

I just found another app called Car Scanner that uses the same ODB2 dongle as Bimmercode, it says it can read and clear codes. I'll download it on my phone and we can give it a try too.

Yeah I used that a few weeks ago with success on the E46. Diagnosed a faulty MAF and can clear codes too.

And always stick to the original recommendation

Going to different specs can only be detrimental IMO.

It's been quite a while since Duckhams brought out 20w50 for sh1tty ole 70s built engines that burnt oil from the factory :pac:

Stick with what it’s been used to. You can get 5w30/40 pretty cheap nowadays.

My Avensis on 375k and climbing is always serviced with 5w30 full synth, every 15k. I'll probably do this on Friday of this week

It's what Toyota recommend and I'm not going to stray away from that, it still runs like a clock without any excessive oil consumption

Minor accident logged with insurance company. Guy said it sounded more her fault.

No video footage in Tesco. Have picked a new spot for parking in future. Reverse in, drive out.

I think it's burning oil more than the norm, so will keep checking it for a month and see what the consumption is like. If it's proven to be excessive is it worth going with a different grade of oil, or just keep with the 5w30?

I mean your car could be leaking/burning oil for some other reason (lots of different causes here), changing to a different grade of oil wouldn't necessarily make any difference here. If it were me I'd be trying to diagnose further and then make a plan of action. I see no benefit to changing oil as things stands.
