If they do have an address and get that amount, they have to pay "in hand" over the HAP amount awarded to the landlord to keep a roof over their head, they cannot afford to feed themselves as the wealthy landlords are extracting every last cent out of them.

The irony is that protesters see themselves and protesting as part of the solution. Instead, both are part of the problem. A protest is just a group of people having a mass moan instead of doing something positive to improve matters. Down with that sort of thing. Is there a lower life in Ireland today than the protester ?

Your entitlement to social welfare payments is not affected by the fact of being homeless but you may have difficulty getting your payments, mainly because of not having a permanent address.

Just because something is fact, doesn't make it right. These people choose to charge as much as they can get away with, rather than considering how hard that's making life for people who are having to blow massive proportions of their income on rent. That's a choice to do something scummy. They could choose to be decent about it if they gave a sh!t about anyone other than themselves.
