"Recent research has found that while Ireland’s school student population is now highly diverse, teachers here continue to be overwhelmingly 'white Irish' and middle class."
"This initiative hopes to help change that profile."
As reported yesterday by RTE on the Marino Institute

So just like the housing situation being a disaster, yet the government planning on a further million people in their 2040 "vision", we also have a seriously bad situation for teachers in the country, so lets throw fuel on the fire! Makes sense in down-is-up land.
I know several teachers struggling for years now to get a stable job, and then you have these genius ideas as above to "help" the problem.
What kind of joke is this? The inference is that a non-European ("white", never mind just irish) should be able to come here, and not only that, irish teachers should "make room" for non-European teachers to teach their children too.
Why don't irish people just leave the country all together, sure we're basically just getting in the way of "progress". The various entities, loud mouths, useful idiots and even government have a lot to answer for, this environment that is being artificially created is downright toxic for irish people.
Or maybe some people here agree that irish teachers are too white and too irish for our "own" good?
EDIT: My quote from RTE states "white and Irish", but the actual quote should also include "female". Now isn't that weird?! That RTE would purposefully leave out one element? Golly gosh!
EDIT 2:
Find below an exemplar of the mindset that wants this to happen on a much greater scale. Read this post from elsewhere in the thread and weep!
"If we open up closed industries and roles to a larger labour force, we can get better people. Otherwise, these industries grow old and stale, with inertia kicking in.
Do you think the Gardai and the Public Sector could not be improved?
These roles should reflect the community they police, educate and administer.
As to your last point, are you afraid of competition?"
Youre not good enough, irish people, sorry! We're running a factory now, its not a home anymore!
