It being an import with a steering conversion would presumably knock a chunk off the value too.

Poor change of manual gearbox is not suited to V6 petrol engine. IS250 thirsty. Ride and handling lag behind C-Class, 3 Series and A4. Rear seats don't fold.

A lot of Altezzas are 6 cylinder too. The 4 cylinder isn’t the standard engine on them.

If you’re going IS250 - I’d go auto. It just suits them better.

I think the 4 cylinder might be standard on the ones sold in Japan.

As before, the base engine is the same 6 cylinder we got here. That’s the alltezza AS200. The RS200 has the 4 cylinder and has about 50 extra bhp.

The FRVs are good. The newer 1.8 is more economical, but overall they’re a very good car. Not sure if the 1.7 has a belt or chain.

NCT until March and will tax it for three months to keep me motoring for now, has 133k miles on the clock. Very clean inside and recently fully serviced. Any ideas on what to price it as?

And was looking at something like a 1.6 diesel from '08 onwards in the bangernomics (to slightly above bangernomics!) range to move up to.
Or if anyone has any ideas, I'm open to suggestions.

If you have the car checked over then it doesn't make any difference that its a trade sale only. They took the car in and it probably owes them nothing so they don't want it coming back for any reason, hence the trade sale.

If it's a true trade sale then they won't want to sell it to joe public as it needs to be fit for purpose. Trade sales are usually aimed at those in the motor trade. If its a trade in they took and just want shot of it as cheap as possible then it's worth looking at. Most cars in that price range from dealers wouldn't have much of a warranty anyway. But obviously you would still need to have the car checked over properly by a mechanic either way. Cheap cars come with an additional element of risk.
