I know this is After Hours but seriously???

Over half have said they'd vote for Casey?

Imagine that idiot representing the country. He can barely construct a full sentence. Any question I've heard put to him results in him starting one sentence and finishing another.

This morning on Newstalk for instance
these are direct word for word quotes...

When asked about Varadkar

"It's not his perogative to get involved in the process of the presidency a duly elected nominated by 4 counties and a candidate and he tells people not to vote for the person who has been nominated by Kerry, Clare, Limerick and Tipperary"

And when asked about his comments on a welfare state...

"Do you know if you give a person a fish you feed him for a day you know people are if you teach we should the middle Ireland are the ones that are being squeezed"

I think I'd prefer a president that can string a few words together arranged basically in a order that makes a bit of sense. Casey would be an embarrassment.

As I have said in a previous thread, do not underestimate how out of step the Irish Political Establishment and Irish media are with Irish people.

There is an anti establishment vote out there but it is brushed under the carpet.

Look at the anger when Bertie Ahern is normalised in Irish media.
Look at the anger when we see people with multiple convictions given a blank check with free legal aid, which is anything but free.
Look at the anger of the Water Protesters, who despite the media narrative were from all classes and demographics.

The state is highly dysfunctional and highly concentrated in one city, which has been over developed threatening the quality of life of 1.3 million people who pay too much for their homes, and have to travel too far to work, and pay too much childcare, who receive a shockingly bad Health service, a clearly Poisoned Garda Management culture, highly paid bureaucrats, millionaire Ministers etc etc

I could go on and on, I'll be taking this opportunity to use my vote to vote anti establishment.

If you're a worker forget about party political for this election. Get out and give the establishment a good kick in the balls. It's probably the only chance you'll get. Would be very funny to watch the reaction.

All hell will break loose if he wins. It will then bring up Ireland’s silently majority anc potentially open the flood gates. Any of you on social media , I’d encourage you to put up a post on Thursday outlining why people should go out and vote Casey! Bring it on. The rotten to the core establishment needs to be torn down. I wasn’t even going through vote until I heard of Casey’s comments!

Are there any non web polls which show Casey in the lead? web polls are really bad at predicting stuff.remember when Roy Keane nearly became Time Magazine person of the century? All it'd take to swing one is for everyone in a facebook group to decide to vote in it.

This is the latest poll i found and it's no-where near the level of support on the web polls.

I think the poll released on the weekend was conducted just before Casey's remarks. Hopefully there'll be another one within the next couple of days, so we can get some idea of how accurate the AH poll is (or isn't).

I don't get to vote anti establishment too often, so I am using Casey as much as he is using me for a blunt political office.

We haven't seen a successful alternative to the mainstream parties over the last ten years, why do you think that is? How would it fund itself, how would it get media exposure?

The Peter Casey thing is a massive distraction from the real issue of the presidential election.

For someone who has had a long time and perhaps too long in the public service , what is Michael D's motivation to keep going.

He has multiple pensions , homes , wealth.

There is doubt if he will make the full term.

He said he would go once. He looks frail to be honest.

It is all a bit selfish - you had your time , you have earned your money , sorry it is time to move on.

Sadly you have to accept, you'd take a dead Micheal D versus a dragon.

What is a dragon at the end of the day - a person who gets a company at a ridiculous equity and abuses power of a tv show. (no thanks)
