Why would you have a show called The Friday Rock Show, when it is supposed to be playing rock music anyway? Why is one of Radio Nova's digital stations called Classic Rock, when that is what Radio Nova was licensed for anyway? Pat James was "relegated" to Radio Nova Classic Rock - is he the only presenter on that digital station, i.e. is the rest of its music all automated? Here's a thought: if Radio Nova wants to branch out musically from its license, surely its digital stations can do that rather than the opposite! Perhaps, John Clarke could have a non-rock jukebox on a digital station, for example his soul collection! Instead of a digital station called Classic Rock, you could have one called Classic Soul!

I love radio production & presentation but get board quickly, plenty of new radio projects coming up in 2019. You can stream via Bluetooth from your mobile to a stand alone speaker in your car, from the stations website.

This does not seem to be the case as I am not aware of any other shows - I totally agree with the digital stations they should have more variety as to me whats the difference between a digital station when you can have your own Spotify playlist or listen to someone else. I heard Tony saying many a time on the The Friday Night Rock show that the show is named in tribute to The Friday Rock Show which was presented by Tommy Vance on BBC radio 1 a show I listened to myself growing up in the 70's. Terrible pity PJ is not back on FM I work nights and miss his show I like Kieran McGuinness but the variety and style of music is just not there.

As a specialised rock music service, Radio Nova has a proven track record in Dublin and is well positioned to offer a real alternative to listeners in a wider area in a commercially viable way. They have a tried and tested format that is succeeding in the market and worked and delivers for audiences and advertisers.” the “Listen Up: Our View On The Radio Market” report says. Who are they trying to kid, if they want to be alternative they have a funny way of showing it.
