How do I get BBC Radio in Dublin

I'm currently living in Malahide and have had some problems in relation to tuning BBC Radio stations. I lived and worked in Dundalk for years and got the stations there obviously.

I only have FM and MW, no LW or DAB.

I'm only interested in Radio 2, 4 and 5Live.

What are the FM/MW frequencies for these?

Simplest way is on the internet otherwise you will most likely need an outside FM aerial.

I don't think you'll get any of them too easily on FM in Dublin, unless you've got a Virgin Media point at your premises.

The MW frequencies are all here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/info/frequencies.shtml

They're all on satellite too, have you a dish set up?

I have Virgin Media and can get it on TV but I much prefer good old-fashioned FM. How do I get them on FM with VM?

When I lived in Portmarnock, many years ago, I used to listen to 5 live on 909mw.

I use TuneIn now...

Ideally you'd have a receiver with a coax input, and take a lead from a VM point. Failing that, some way of connecting a coax lead to the aerial...I use a crocodile clip. You might get something by coiling a good length of coax close to your aerial.

5live is on 95.1 here in Bray, no 2 or 4 though. R1 is on 99.7, R3 92.3, and WS 97.1. I don't know if these frequencies are valid across the network.

You should definitely be able to get what you want on MW, just try the freqs from the BBC site I linked, you might find that the best reception varies with weather and time of day.

Get a Freesat box, trying to reliably receive via FM is a complete waste of time.
