Similar in Artane/Coolock except the sun managed to come out for a minute. It's gone now sadly.

This August has to be the most boring month in quite a long while. It was bound to happen sometime after all the interest the weather has provided since Ophelia. Not complaining because this allows me to focus on other matters.

Would love to know since 1st May what proportion of days in dublin have seen at least 20 degrees hit. It feels like only a handful of days where the max temperature wasn’t at least 20-22 degrees with so many days around 23-26 over the past few months

today's high at Dunshaughlin reached 20C briefly, a full 6C cooler than yesterday. If the sun was around today we would have easily reached 22 or 23C. A damp day here with drizzely showers on and off all day.

Sryan thanks so much for that. If you take out May which I suppose is not technically summer that would mean Phoenix Park in June, July and August combined has averaged about 75% of all days being 20 degrees or higher, very impressive. Can’t imagine there are too many summers with that type of average!

This post really shows that everyone has a different definition of hot/cold. Personally, I found the temperature perfectly fine.

It has cooled down significantly since the cloud cover got thicker, but earlier when it was partly sunny and very humid, I would definitely have described it as hot for me. The air temps are one thing, but the combo of direct sunlight and high humidity earlier was pretty heavy.

Youd get more wind off a fart than down the south today. Dead air , high humidity = a savage , cruel , exhausting and unrelenting warmth.
