I says

Galway for me without doubt.
I’ve loads of family in limerick but they can wait another few years it’s a pity because against anyone else I’d be shouting for them.

It's hardship being a Limerick supporter normally. I was on the Hill in 1994 surrounded by dejected Offaly fans for 65 minutes having the crack, need I say more. I can remember sitting on the terrace in the Gaelic Grounds in 96 in the blazing sunshine with a roaring hangover at half time and we were about 10 points down. I think that was a low point but they rallied for a draw. I remember bringing my young lad to the 2014 game against Kilkenny and he turned to me when Shane Dowling scored from around 70 yds on 62 mins "I think we have them Dad!!" but I knew better than get my hopes up. Three weeks ago we were about 6 up against Cork in Extra Time and my buddy said much the same and even though we were home and hosed when Cork scored the goal, I couldn't breathe until the final whistle went. If Limerick win on Sunday, there'll be grown men crying all over the place (including me!). I still think this year might be a year too early: if so, it's been a great and very enjoyable season. I don't often wish Joe Canning not to get another AI medal, but please Santa, please, please postpone his 2nd until next year.

Limerick, the mothers side of the family were all Limerick and hurling mad. Have fond childhood memories of being brought to Limerick matches during the summer.

Yep, looks very much like 31 v 1. Amazing what the bit of success does, although Limerick have always been very likeable as far as opposing counties go at the same time. Surprised by a couple of posters from other Connacht counties though, always thought Galway was their de-facto hurling side given that dont have one (at the top end). Perhaps not

Limerick. I was there in 73, I was 4. I remember being lifted over the stile by my dad,walking up concrete steps and the roar of the crowd.And a lady behind us gave me a bar of chocolate. We had a picture of the team over the mantlepiece for years after, between DeValera and JFK. I'd give anything to be there but will make do with the big screen in the local town. The emotion and hope in the county is palpable. And the players,for their determination,commitment and skill,they deserve it.

Galway - As a Galway person though, it's a shame a potential win has to come at the expense of Limerick. Same with Waterford last year. I think every Galway person (probably even the team themselves) would much rather the chance to beat Tipp or Kilkenny

Galway were the Mayo of hurling up until last year!

South East Clare always support Limerick when Clare are out even though they are bitter rivals..as opposed to Clare v Galway where there is no real bite in the rivalry.
I also want to see Plan B put into action by the security in Croke Park. There will be a pitch invasion if Limerick win. 100% guaranteed.

yea, a pitch invasion would be brilliant, always considered it one of the best things about All Ireland final day, would bring back a bit of lost romance plus stick it to the GAA big wigs....

Limerick all the way!! It's been too long a wait!! Roll on Sunday. Fully expect to go behind by 6 to8 points but once we not too far well catch them, it's when we seem to play at our best!

All I am hoping for is an exciting game to cap off a great year in hurling. Hope the result is in doubt up to the end. If I had to put my head on the block, I would choose Limerick, last year I chose Galway.

I wasn't there in '73 but remember sitting on my Dad's knee in '80. He still has the poster of the '73 team: by God does it need replacing!! I picked my ticket up this morning. I'll be keeping it safe and not bending/ folding it juuuuuust in case I need to get it framed and put on the wall for another 45 years

It's a hell of a long time, and I'll have the tissues ready if we win. No tears ever when we lose in the Championship just crushing disappointment .I've often dreamt of the moment the final whistle is blown and the All Ireland is won, would dearly like to see and feel that in reality. Look at the 73 pitch invasion and celebrations on Youtube after the final whistle.Chills up the spine, fantastic. This isn't going to be won easily though, Galway will be tough. Really tough.

Pat's wife had been worried about him. "Jesus mary, he's spending an awful long time in the shower lately... he's clearly not happy and longing for it again".
