Any idea what flew over Lucan around 5 mins ago (around 17.25)? I think it must have gone over a couple of hours ago too. The whole house shook and windows rattled! I live very near Baldonnel and lived beside Weston previously too so used to constant plane noise but this was something else! Interested to know if it was something unusual or just something lower than normal even. Everyone was outside checking what was going on. Thanks.

My Dad did hear a loud jet earlier this afternoon in Clondalkin, but was unsure of what it could have been. Maybe the same aircraft?

Thanks. That must have been it. Never experienced anything like it even though the Strikemasters have flown over before. Or even the days of practice the air corps do overhead before special events.

EI-EMN still on the ground at Kerry since arriving in from Luton earlier. M-ABJA has since been in from STN and went back out to DUB, but is inbound to Kerry again now.

Aer Lingus 757 flew relatively low over Bray a few hours ago. According to FR24 it was flying Shannon to Boston, but it took direct route from Shannon to Dublin.

What was most likely? Heading to Dublin for maintenance?

They often swap (or rotate) the 757's between Shannon and Dublin. Today, there is no flight to JFK from Shannon so the aircraft flew to Dublin instead. Could be minor maintenance, could be flying from Dublin today.

EI-CJX is currently flying EI101 Dublin to Newark replacing one of the A330 fleet.

EI145 has turned around over Greenland and seems to be returning to DUB

EI145 - The Aer Lingus website flight info page indicates Diverted to DUB, ETA 21.30 "next day".

That’s a long way out to turn back. Why would they not divert to airport in Canada or the eastern US would they not be closer?

It’s wrong. It’s now out of coverage so it’s on an estimated track which will have picked up probably it’s LAX plan and is showing it westbound. It’s still returning.

The Omni 772's last showing on Fr24 is the flight back to Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport, TX yesterday following its stand-in for Aer Lingus yesterday. It operated EI123 DUB-Chicago but for some reason the return EI122 was cancelled.

Might be worth keeping an eye out later on Fr24 to see if it's on its way to LAX for the return LAX-DUB. Reg is N828AX

I presume if it was an urgent emergency they would have landed at the closest suitable airport so flying three hours back to Dublin is hopefully just to minimise passenger inconvenience?
