We joined the army together and served oversea's in Lebanon together.

Different guy;

I was good mates and training partner with a guy who was convicted of a gangland murder, then it came out in the media that he was a suspect in a number of other murders!.. I'd have never guessed it, lovely lad. Non drinker, great training partner and gave lots of his time to coach kids in the community and try get them off the streets (I'm not naming him)

Had a mate who'd been in the SAS, back in the sixties. Dare say he'd done his fair share.

Looking back, the most striking thing about him was his placidity. I never saw him get ruffled by Anything. I don't think he'd even know how to raise his voice. Quiet spoken. Very self contained sort of bloke. Like he was walking round within his own little force field.

But, there was this unmistakable vibe that he'd have ye dead before ye hit the ground. And that wouldn't ruffle him either.

Scary fcuker, if I'd ever stopped to think about it. But, he was just a very good mate of mine and nothing ever came to the test. Why would it have?
