Silly season is still in full swing as we all know with Williams and Sauber not having confirmed their line ups as yet.

What are people's opinions on the Halo and Alfa Romeo for 2018?

Anyway whatever happens I doubt it will be straight swap with Sainz. Him and Verstappen caused enough hassle to be split up in Toro Rosso so I doubt Red Bull will relish the two of them in the same team again.

Bbc running a breaking story that he is leaving Red Bull, but no other details. Wow, hope it works for him. Verstappen has time in his side to waste a few Honda years getting it right. Danny RIC doesn't and I believe he would have a title in him, just not sure its with Renault though??

Probably better for both drivers. Two equal status drivers just never works for a title challenge. Renualt not ideal but only decent alternative, with Honda going RB next year its probably 50-50 which team will finish ahead next year. Signing of RIC also gives Renault an impetus to push themselves, they seemed to respond back when Kimi signed

Well if they aren't winning races with Ricciardo, there is no place to hide for the car design anyway.

I think it is a good move for Dani.
He was never going to get priority over Max at RBR.
Renault when it was Lotus did not such a bad job when Kimi was with them.

Could be a savvy move, Renault have the budget and have made huge strides forward over the last few seasons. If they can continue their trajectory it's not inconceivable they could break into the top 3. Certainly with Red Bull having Honda engines next year its not that much of a stretch to imagine Renault finishing ahead of them.

I say Antonio Giovanzzi will be given the sauber seat when LeClerc moves up.

Personally I'd like it to be Sainz but he's been a bit too quiet at Renault.

Max will be the Hamilton there so a chicken would do just as well.

Thats a very bold move by both Riccardo and Renault if true. I hope it works out for him and that Renault can be fighting at the front in the next few years. It's a big loss for Red Bull do. I actually thought Max and Daniel made a good team and worked well together. It's not like say Lewis and Rosberg where there was mind games and they were not getting on together.

Amazing move and coup by Renault. They have been on the up in recent years, this just adds to it with adding a top driver like Daniel.

Shaping up nicely for 2019.

I would say Sainz, just to keep him under contract if nothing else. Gasly will be fine doing another season at Toro Rosso, Sainz won't. Give him one year and if he doesn't perform promote Gasly for 2020. Whereas if you drop Sainz and put Gasly in there for 2019 and he doesn't perform you've got a problem for 2020.

I didn't expect that news at all. I thought he would end up staying with Red Bull. I'm a big Danny Ric fan so I hope this works out well for him. It would be nice to see a Renault win again ala Alonso 05/06.

I wonder what this means for both Gasly/Sainz as to who gets the seat and also what happens to Ocon now.

Well if the Riccardo rumour is true and Giovinazzi goes to Red Bull maybe Vandoorne might get a drive with Sauber now.
I think Leclerc could move to Haas and maybe move to Ferrari in 2020 or 2021 depending on Kimis form and if he retires first or Ferreri decide to replace him.

These are my predictions for the 2019 Driver Line-Up I know some are a bit out there but I had to try fit Russell and Ocon in somewhere.

Merc: Hamilton, Bottas
Ferrari: Seb, Kimi
Red Bull: Max, Sainz
Renault: Hulkenberg, Danny Ric
Torro Rosso: Gasly, Norris(on loan from McLaren)
Williams: Stroll, Siroktin (possibly Russell/Ocon if Vandoorne stays)
McLaren: Alonso, Ocon
Force India: Perez, Russell
Haas: KMag, LeClerc
Sauber: Eriksen, Giovanzzi

I don't see Alonso sticking it out in the midfield for another year, especially with his asking price. At least the Indy 500 doesn't clash with any WEC events.

Red bull had the issue with sainz and verstappen so might not be an option for them. Verstappen was promoted and Kyvat demoted to solve that. So we might see a surprise here.
And Alonso Honda is no love story.
