As for your charge re 'virtue signalling' and the like, well, I feel they're quite apt terms given the behavior being spoken about. Blindboy knows well there's an appetite the kind of buzzwords and terms he began using a couple of years back (like rape culture, male privilege, toxic masculinity, etc). He, like the rest of us, has seen the rise of this element of society (RTE rape culture docus and the like on prime time) and so obviously thought incorporating some of it into his spiel from time to time would be a worthwhile venture, and by jove wasn't he right, look at him now.

As recently as only a few years back the chap was seen as something of fool by most folk, only really invited on panels to give RTE and the like some measure of credibility with the youth, I'd suspect, make them appear edgy..... but now today, there's a book of his thoughts and musings on the best seller list in Easons and people are actually paying to hear him speak at festivals. You think if he hadn't endorsed the notion that Ireland has a rape culture, that there's such think as toxic masculinity, and that the patriarchy needs to be dethroned, any of this would be happening? Of course it wouldn't. LON doesn't propose to everyone ya know.
