Exactly what I was thinking. What the article shows is that the destruction of manufacturing jobs, coupled with the drive by corporations to get women out of the house has affected the self worth of lots of men. Add to that other problems like alcoholism etc and it's not surprising that there is a crisis among men. My guess is that the last thing these men need is the man-hating form that feminism has taken in recent years. The whole article is typical of an academic living in a bubble, completely unfamiliar of the situation on the ground.

In this case I think I typed gender roles and male suicides, and scrolled through the hits till I found one by the APA as I figured that s the most trust worthy and would be obliged to back findings with research and empirical evidence.

Dick the APA stands for the American Psychological Association , while I appreciate that you re completely familiar with the situation on the ground but the APA are not living in a bubble and tend to get their research by observing the data from those who are involved with the situation on the ground

I agree eduction has been dumbed down and it is easier to get degrees/MA s nowadays. But that has **** all to do with the research paper I linked to you.
