So Power's or any other bookie would be vulnerable and hence would change their prices to reflect any flow of money. It's different for the aforementioned matches or races as they can analyse form etc.

In my regular betting days if I'd put €100 on this type of market at decent odds they'd possibly have refused the bet and certainly would have slashed the odds. Put €100 on Sean Power tomorrow and watch what happens!

Maybe i am totally wrong but would be very surprised to hear that there were personal or individual attacks involved, and more likely would have been aimed at the system of play or tactics involved. This being the case, I would expect a greater willingness from players to accept that others are entitled to voice an opinion. That being said, i don't know of the "tweets" so fair enough. Maybe the other rumours that Cork County Board put pressure on Pat Ryan to turn down the job are true and this is just a handy excuse, that is of course assuming he was ever offered the job in the first place.. On that point considering there was never any official comment or statements released and it was so early in the "hunt" for a new manager - one has to wonder just how much money was involved in the unusual betting patterns to lead Paddy Power to suspend taking bets on Pat Ryan and one also has to wonder the source of such funds. I am not a betting man but I would imagine it would require a reasonably sizable amount of betting to lead to this and thus the information would have had to come from what someone considered a very reliable source. Once again an unnecessary controversy surrounds our county GAA - what a pity . .

If there is any truth in this rumour I would be very concerned , that players are willing to shoot selectors without even giving them a chance. I genuinely hope that it is only heresay and there is no truth in it, but if there is any level of truth in it, it would appear to me to once again undermine the strength and resolve of our county board.

These managers showed utmost faith in their young players and encouraged them to do what they love most - to hurl and to show no fear. The never say die attitude of these lads who adopted the approach that if we loose, we will die with our boots on was a joy to watch. There was never a case of keeping the score down and in each case the manager was not bigger than the team. Time to learn a lesson, give the job to someone who is willing to let our players play. I honestly believe we have the players to compete on an equal footing with any of those four teams this weekend. Just looking at how Limerick and Clare have progressed over the last 12 months, makes me believe that we only have a very short window of opportunity with this special bunch of players. The next three to four years are just going to be so competitive and personally I believe we have already wasted two to three years in our development of this bunch - my opinion only, but this appointment is crucial
