Clare GAA discussion thread

Thought I'd start this thread as haven't found one of the same.

So, 2010.. new decade... new beginnings? With the aim of the League being to get back into Division 1, could Clare also achieve success in Munster this year?

As well as a proposed friendly versus Cork, Ger O'Loughlin has a good load of matches to blood players from U-21's into the senior game. With the opponents in the League not posing a major threat some would argue Clare wont get as much preparation as Div 1 teams, but maybe it will give them an opportunity to focus on their strength and conditioning?

So, Clare face Waterford on Sunday at 2pm in Ballyduff Upper.. I think they should win against this weakened Waterford side, but I think it will be close tbh. But could Waterford topple us in the pre season tournament?

For a €5 on each ticket going to the club I'm sure they'd be happy to help out.

I think the older generation who go to everything are worst off. The ones used to the old system of allocations.

A bit of headsup would have been great for everyone, if people knew yesterday that tickets were going on general sale at 11 this morning it would have been grand, clubs been notified the same time as everyone else let to panic, hence the queues. Hopefully there'll be a big Clare crowd there on Sunday

Shocking really. absolute PR disaster by the GAA this year, not that they'll actually care tho.. Imagine what they could do with a proper PR team

Got our tickets for the old stand this morning thank god!! My brother could only get terrace , stand sold out by the time they got to the top of the online que. Ques crazy in our local Centra.
Some centras have ran out of printing paper apparently.

Imagine if they had a plan for all eventualities, for example if a semi final went to extra time then a replay in Croke Park on Bank Holiday Monday, if both games go to a replay then it's a double header. Semi final tickets would be sent to competing teams on the Monday morning for any left overs to be sent back by Friday.

Agree that they should have a plan in place, but wouldn't have the capacity for a double header.

You could be right. In fairness to Clare Gaa they had details on twitter since midday. Galway Gaa still have not details on twitter! From what I'm hearing huge queues in Clare, small queues in Galway.

Ya it seems like they were behind the curve, even this thread was much more alive than the Galway one..

On the point of people missing out.. I rang 3 people today to go get tickets all of whom had defaulted to the stock "shur they'll be out Tuesday at the earliest" lot of genuine fans may miss out here

With the rumours of club tickets still possibly going out, you can expect "a select few additional tickets to be made available" if they come back unused

They are saying it is , I dunno. I wouldn't be relying on club returns even if they do get tickets .

Has anyone got good stand tickets, from what i can see it was mainly only the corners that were being sold. Typical if the poor lads who bought first get the worst tickets.

Again its terrible pr for the Gaa , they pulled the same stroke for limerick cork saying on the thursday/friday it was nearly sold out yet it was only 71 k. Munster final they had tickets being "sold out" so people bought terraces only for loads of tickets to be available and people not being able to give them away for free.

I got 203 so happy enough with that. Got them shortly after 11.30 a.m. Assuming the central parts of each stand are being used for season ticket holders.

What time did you join the queue? I joined at 12:05 and queued til 13:55

I was just checking at 11.30 and they suddenly went on sale. Was number 150 in the queue and had to wait 7/8 minutes then. Pure luck though!

sponsors, players, season tickets i guess but dont think clare have many season ticket holders. Me thinks some are still being held back for whatever reason
