Worst I've seen at that junction so far.
Everyday cars and vans fly down the bus lane and try cut in just like that van, though usually they carry on around by the garage onto Long Mile Road.

Because I would need to go around markings and then HOPE that person behind will not go over them, so I wont crash into them trying to get back in to the line.
Sometimes its a mater of choosing lesser evil.

No it doesn't , if you've indicated to move into the lane, then there should be no chance of the guy behind you trying to pass you out and in any case I doubt there is room to do it.

What might make sense is if you said you moved over early so as to give someone going straight on a clear road. I do this at certain junctions, to avoid getting rear ended.

Do you drive much? Indicating in a lot of cases causes the person behind to speed up with the "you're not getting in front of me" attitude...
