Donut shops, EVERYWHERE!

Lads, I like donuts and all but what has happened to Dublin City?
there's donut shops everywhere!

I pass 5 on my way to work, they're popping up like poxy Starbucks!

Huckleberrys in Cork closed too. Yes it seems it is gone, mainly killed by Dunnes selling a dozen for a quarter of the price of those shops.

Seen that earlier as well, they are to have some sort of proper announcement why.

It's probably because there are too many donut shops around. They have taken locations in places with high rental costs and dont bake onsite either, so that's a kitchen somewhere they have to look after as well along with transport.

Wonder if you can keep the syringes stuck in the donuts, or would they think I'm a junkie? I wouldn't even bother going to these places - they epitomise the notions of people in this country.

the krispy kreme donuts are quite reasonably priced in the UK so i expect they will be similar here. £10 for a dozen. They are a mas market product not a hipster product.

Too expensive they were and didn't taste great. Huckleberrys was very average I thought. I think you'll see Dunkin and Krispy Kreme enter the Irish market next.

Was obvious really. They were opening everywhere. Reeds on Nassau Street had a counter, the convenience stores started selling them too. I did notice a few months ago that Aungier Danger was gone from Georges Street (this was down the road from their original location) and Baggot Street, although that one shared a shop with a post office.

We seem to go mad for these things. The milkshake thing was the same.

Just need to figure out the next one and get in and get out early.

I reckon a Belgian waffle place could do well for a while

Cookie dough shops are another big one in america that will eventually be big here.

Long time ago and dunkins at the time did just donuts. They are more akin to cafes now there product offering
