Short Treks. Good idea or bad?

So what do you people think of the new Short Treks that are going to be screened as well?
Do you think it is a good idea or would you have preferred that they spent the time and money they spent making them on the main Discovery episodes?

I think they could be interesting and am willing to give these short episodes a chance.

I don't really see the point of the ones that focus on the main cast, why not just weave those plot points into existing storylines? The ones focusing on non-crew could be good as little asides that wouldn't work if they were slotted into an episode.

I think they're a good idea, but would question their total value. In the world of modern TV, a constant social media footprint is invaluable; some short 'n sweet mini episodes would be good to keep things ticking along. Tilly seemed quite popular overall so could see why they went with her anyway
