Hi all congratulations to those who scored in the top 900, i came mid 2000s im just wondering do i have any chance at all of getting called for stage two tests or should i just way off for the 2019 recruitment campaign ?? Thanks guys

Id imagine be more courses put on will there? Going call Monday, hopefully they do.

Not 100% tbh, it's been a while since I looked at the info booklet, but I know the re-test is obviously definitely a part of it. It's worth knowing that career services have the tender to provide the aptitude tests, so the instructor will have some form of inside knowledge of what's going to come up. For that reason alone I'd be doing them, but more-so for a comprehensive preparation. I have no doubt a part of the reason why I did so well was the first course I did.

It's the exact same test just supervised, i have done stage 2 for clerical officer and prison service. They have been the exact same. So no need to stress about it.

Stage 2:

You have to repeat the aptitude tests you done in stage , to verify your score from stage 1 to ensure it was you who completed them.

You then have to do a report writting exercise, their is a video clip played, you have to take quick notes from the video, like names, addresses, car registrations, etc. You then have to right a report on the incident.

And finally you have to go job simulation exercises, like the scenarios in stage 1 part a.

Best advice to prepare for stage 2 is to do a career services preperation course, 100% recommend they will show you how to right a proper report.

Another fella posted earlier that he knew someone in the 2000s who’s now a member so I wouldn’t be losing hope. But even so there’s always next time.

Yes the oom you have now is not your final placing there will be two more reshuffling of the oom, you get your final one after the interview.

Congrats to everyone who passed, regardless of OOM. Long way to go yet and a lot could change!
I would be careful about posting exact figures. Wouldn't want to be too easily identifiable.

There's a post over on reddit saying the top 1791 got called through, and people were saying they placed in the 5000s..
Maybe the guy who got through in the 2000s got through because the amount taken was higher and more applied..

I don't know how to feel about it, I passed but on the other hand I'm not in the first sitting and I've a high OOM..

Just to clear up a few points of concern for those who scored in the 1000s. You will still get called to sit stage 2 it will just take longer, not a bad thing prep wise. The recruitment is a lot like the grand national people fall at different areas. Myself and my sister took this test last year I score far better than her at the online test however she was called up months later to sit stage 2. She passed and got to the interview stage where as I didn't. Everybody get comfortable because this could take the best part of two years for some of us.

I think everyone will get called just might take a bit longer then others alot of people are good a aptitude tests and some are not the interview is the main part they will decide as someone said before that will be make or break. If you get through that then you will definitely move down the list.

I’d say get on to PAS and see what the story is. Think everyone should have some form of result!

Hey, I got 44 out of 36 on the verbal test, then 59 out of 42 for the logical and 40 out of 41 on the assessment.. So passed other 2 with no problem and failed by just one point.. should I bother trying to appeal it ? Thanks

So the first 900 get called in September for stage 2 and then they take it in batches..??
So say the next 500 or so might be called by Christmas? Does anyone know for certain if that's how it goes?

I have Irish Leaving cert Foundation level ! Not accepted as a second language , i will have to sit the PAS Irish proficiency exam ! There is details about it and I was aware this would happen but I dont know anyone who has sat it or anything specific !

So basically id say anyone who got a high order of merit over 1900 say has very little chance of getting called or am I completely wrong and everyone who passed is going to get called eventually . So is there any point in paying money to do a stage two prep course . They really don't make it clear for you on the PAS site.

Don't worry, weather you were ranked 1 or 1000, as long as you have been given a place you will get called to stage 2, guaranteed. It will just take a little while longer. They are taking 900 forward to stage 2 first after that they will I would assume take another 900 etc. So you will get called. Take the opertunity to do lots of preperation for the next stage, I would definitely encourage you to do a prep course now so you will have time to use the material given to practice so you will pass stage 2. Hope this helps.
