Who's the snowflake here? Great pic on my FB this morning. Trigger Warning! This is the most offended ive ever felt on boards. I expected more from a political thread. If anyone supports trump they are made to feel stupid or below par intelligence and that is damn right unfair.

If that was of Barack Hussein Obama it would have been deleted by now, and the poster banned. Consistency is missing.

Frankly it smacks of a blinkered approach, reaching for offence. People are complex and not just one thing, and the last thing I'd call half the folks here is "left wing" - if you actually bothered to read other threads, you'll soon find plenty of opinions from Trump detractors that'd be very much on the right-wing scale of flippancy. On subjects such as abortion, migration, Brexit and other topics, I've read plenty of opinions that run contrary to this pigeonholing of "left wing" - yet, shock, these same folks don't like Donald Trump. And how do you square this sports-team mentality with the fact even Republican congressional members and senators have expressed discomfort and (partisan filtered) rebukes towards their own President? Are they part of the left-wing brigade? Are Fox News, given even they found Trumps recent actions a step foo far? As to the photo, Donald Trump adores Strongmen leaders: he has fawned over Putin, Duterte, Erodgen, and Kim-Jon Un when visiting / meeting them. It's not in keeping with the debating standards of this forum, but it's funny and on point. It's called satire.

You're trying to push a victim narrative here, and it's extremely transparent. I thought one of the things people liked so much about Trump was the fact he's not afraid to be offensive, that he says what he wants without worrying about being PC, yet as soon as sonething remotely offensive is posted about him, suddenly offensive is bad again.

Marketing is very effective on people here. When I moved over here I cringed at some of the advertising and how over the top it was. Also, it frustrated me how much advertising there is just throughout every day life here. Trump is a moron, that's clear to see but he's obviously got one talent and that's marketing to Americans. He can market to other morons. He has been doing that so effectively that morons will now believe anything he says and take his side no matter what. Even when there's irrefutable evidence which shows he's lying, they'll just ignore that and say it doesn't matter because this, this and that. It's a pretty dangerous time over here. The economy has been pretty good right from when I moved here. From about 2015 the place was close to full employment (by American standards) and in this state the price of living is low. Since Trump got elected, the racists have become emboldened. The morons have become emboldened. Some of the sh1t you see on bumper stickers and T-shirts is disgusting. The attitude of those who have become very vocal about their support for him and his policies are also baffling. You'd think if he's making sh1t great again, they'd be happy. Instead they still act like they are the victims. I hope Ireland doesn't get infected by this sickness.

I wonder has one of his legal team spotted a solid avenue for treason on the basis of the statement and advised Don that he needs to fix it ASAP.

The man who 'tell it like it is' can't even speak the words he actually means, and it takes him 24 hours, and he had already done 2 interviews in the that time, before he finally realised that he had misspoken? This isn't about left or right, this should be about, and its his own rallying call, America first. But Trump is clearly not America first. In his speech yesterday he accepted that Russia had medled in the election, yet he failed completely to hold Putin to task on it. Did he believe that Russia meddled before the summit, which his restatement yesterday seems to suggest, and still choose to do nothing about it? Or did he not believe and thus is lying about misspeaking? Why do I say he is not America first? His speech yesterday, where he had to admit that Russia meddled in the election, (which lets not forget his own son tried to play an active part in) was not about protecting America, it was about protecting him. And his supporters fell for it. They come out with lines like, "so what, it only FB and anyway he got 60m votes". And the one thing that runs through all of the lines of defence is that the hatred for the left is more than the love of the US and what, at least prior to this, it stood for. They are so fearful of the liberals that they are willing to throw out people like Mueller who have given their whole lives to the protection of the country. We love the Vets, unless they don't agree with us then they are shills. Sometimes the answer is not to simply blame everyone else but to look at yourself. What was it that made you vote or side with Trump? And which of those things is he delivering on?
