That jazz looks nice but its from a ' dealer' with a few cars all with low mileage it would raise my suspicions I'd like to see the previous nct certs to ascertain the mileage

To be fair, that Jazz was NCTd before Christmas, mileage is on disc and it’s a one owner car with a Des Darcy sticker on it. Chances are it’s a car that was traded in for a 182 and then sold to the trade.

The interval on those Alfa engines is only 3 years or 36000 kms. I'd say you'd be hard pressed to find one for sale on done deal that isn't due a timing belt.

Watch for a crunch going into reverse. Clutch pressure plate is a thing with them.
If left unfixed it can take the gearbox casing with it. A lot have had new clutches at this stage but still check.

I picked up that 07 Octavia I posted a while back.

Solid clean car, gearbox is smooth as. Have noticed a problem since though.

Slight coolant leak, but I think I've identified where, and it threw up an engine management light last night and went into limp mode. I'm thinking sticky vanes. Has anyone done the Mr Muscle clean?

Have you vcds? must buy for audi/seat/skoda/vw enthusiast

The coolant leak looks like it's in a pig of a place to get at, but if I'm doing one, I'll do both.

Haven't a vcds, does the cable just plug into a laptop, or what's the crack? I can get me hands on a cheapy obd2 reader, would that be any use?

VCDS gives you full access, including copying keys. worth getting. but a cheap reader will help pinpoint issues.
VCDS is good for turbo /actuator sensor issues as you can log parameters before it goes to limp
