I think there might some legal issues with the lads from the original IW that is stopping BC or a remastered MW2. They might give us MW2 campaign as a pre order bonus and Multiplayer/Battle Royal MW4 as the main game.

Could probably post this in any thread, but it's sad what has happened to the COD series.

I remember going to midnight launches for this game, and this forum was insanely busy. I had some fantastic memories playing this series.

What do people think has been the main downfall - is it the "pay to win" content taking over? Poor gimmicks like the exo-skeleton and "jumping"? Poor maps design?

I don't get the hate for IW and AW. I absolutely loved those 2 games, more than the BlOps series, and I believe i'm in the minority in that regard. I think moving to exo's with advanced movement was a natural progression, and going back to WW2 was a bad move imo. The problem with the CoD series is not the games, its the fans. They don't know what they want. The series moves from modern to near future and people lost it. They went back to WW2 and it feels stale. IW are going to try and revive it by bringing back the awesomeness of MW, and I hope they can do it. MW2 is still my favourite in the series, and the crap they're pulling with BlOps 4 might hurt them bad.

But i've faith in IW, they only released 1 crap game so far (Ghosts). I've faith they will do MW4 justice. And I've no doubt Activision don't want any more modern/old era games, as the customisation is not as easy to do so less money.

I love them all! Even Ghosts actually if you go back and play Ghosts you will find it's not as bad as you remember, fantastic hit detection and most of the dlc maps were better then the maps it shipped with.
I had no issue with AW Blops and IW I just adapted to the advanced movement.
I had no issue going back to boots on the ground with WWII but I am not looking forward to Blops 4 it looks a message of a game. I think next year's COD will give us the modern shooter we all want so I look forward to that.

Looking good for MW4 with map designer Geoffrey Smith who designed the maps for MW1 and MW2 back as lead designer and Alexander Roycewiz who designed Terminal and highrise also back working for Infinity Ward according to this Reddit post.

Going from the success of BlOps 4, I didn't think there would be a campaign, but the hiring of a narrative scripter/writer is interesting. Maybe they'll do the usual MP, zombies and campaign and leave the Battle Royale to BlOps 4, as BlOps have a history of supporting a game long after it's been 'replaced'. Personally, I hope they drop zombies and go back to the Special Ops MW introduced. Way more fun imo.

I love zombies but I've really not liked other devs getting into doing it, it's tiring at this rate. I'd far rather Spec Ops coming back. I miss that mode so much.

Think it is the time for a present day shooter again. Had a few games of MW3 last week really enjoyable. Hope it is MW4 they can always do a new story for 2019. It's not like the majority of players buy FPS games for the single player story alone.

I used to be very into zombies but at this stage it is same old so I skipped BO4. But it would be amazing for Treyarch to Remaster WaW somewhere down the line, next gen possibly! With the old zombies experience taking foot and not what it evolved into.

Yeah, modern is the most likely next jaunt for CoD, but I think it will take a lot of effort to make a modern shooter that doesn't feel stale. That's the issue I had with WWII, I felt like I had already played it. Even though BlOps 4 is similar to previous entries, it still feels fresh, I reckon that's down to the Specialists and their double specials. Will be interesting to see what IW do with this one. Again, hope they get rid of Zombies and bring back Spec Ops.

MWR is being giving free to PlayStation plus subscribers in March that looks like a fairly definite marketing strategy that we are getting MW4 next! They gave Black Op 3 away free last yeara few months before Black Ops 4 came out. Some say they may release MW2 Remastered in the summer.

If this is true it looks like they are going to give us all we want. No specialists, MW2 & MW3 maps and weapons. Co-Op Mode, no zombies no battle Royale mode. This is from Matt Harris who was spot on about Blops4.

Playing MWR for the last week, and it doesn't appear to be a quick scope haven anymore. Getting some really enjoyable games, and constantly forgetting I can't slide (think BO1 was the first to introduce diving, then sliding came afterwards?). It took a while to get back into the swing of things, but it's really enjoyable. I think they'll keep the scorestreak system the way it currently is, where you have multiple choices and you pick whichever ones you want, as the amount of UAVs in MWR is crazy!

But, really looking forward to MW4 now. I think it will be extremely popular, and I am excite.

They didn't specify it was a reboot though, just that it'll be called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Could be a continuation, could be a reboot, could be a remake, could be just the same as Medal of Honor and other games have done in the past. Either way, it's Modern fricken Warfare!!!

Hmmm, that does sound interesting. 'A lot is changing' could be anything. I'd love a free season pass type model and keep all the MT's to cosmetic items. They'll still make a killing with it if it's good enough, and I trust IW to do something good with this.

I just got the feeling that this years MW will take place concurrent to the original trilogy, and you'll play as a different character doing different things during the same time. Only a thought though, hopefully something will be shown tomorrow!

Rumours say there will be no paid DLC no PS4 exclusive time dlc micro transactions will work like WWII and IW (you can buy the dlc or earn it from playing) No specialists or mini map. Interesting times

It was only a matter of time before games realise that paid DLC in the form of maps will not last in their current form. As much as I dislike the game, Fortnite showed how it's done. I'm even ok with the season passes for €10, if you want the extra stuff a few times a year. As long as the gameplay is on point, which I'm sure it will be, this sounds like a great return to a proper BOTG CoD. Just hope the unlock system is a bit better than the one in BlOps 4, which was never good for the average player who didn't have the time to sink into it to get the better (not even the best) loot.

Interested to see what this extra mode is. I would have loved Specialists back, but happy it's not Zombies at least. Roll on 6pm!
