And a tricky one if you don't know it. Single lane coming from the left (80km). I've been taking that turn for 8 years once a month and still my instinct is to look right for traffic.
There's a slight brow of a hill too when looking left.

Regular occurrence at that spot. How there hasn't been a very bad accident already I don't know. I drive that road very regularly and can think of similar happening at least 3 times in the last couple of months.

There probably was serious accidents there already... not sure if there's an online map for accident blackspots?

I won't report them, but will probably send an e-mail to Meath Co. Council about the road design. Not sure what they can do "on the cheap" in the short term.

Maybe a series of rumble strips on that approach or a couple of speed ramps if you want to get more extreme.

Really, it probably needs measures to slow both roads down at that junction as 80kph is too much of a speed difference.

Something similar happened me the last day, but I could see it coming, think it could have been his initial road position didn't look right. Was tipping along on an 80km stretch in the van, car pulls out from a minor road but instead of going into the other lane he makes right for me in my lane, tourist, easy see how it happens. It'll wake a person up for sure.
