Check back every hour or so and keep an eye on tickets.ie and Munster GAA's twitter, it's rare a couple of tickets don't become available in my experience.

I support both codes and while the Hurlers have given me more to cheer, I hate to just be another supporter that walks away from footballers but it's hard after Saturday..

Where does Cork go from here? .. Is that really the best we have on Saturday? What's underage structures like? Surely a county size of Cork should be getting more for the buck.

Its a team of top physiologist we need in Cork Football. We are almost the same in every way some of us have even Kerry blood in us. We are only divided by a few Hill and rushey fields, but when it comes to football we might be as well on a different planet. Fear causes us so much problems. Kerry are like the All Black's when they put on that jersey.

A few thoughts on footballers. I’ve probably been to most Cork Vs Kerry football championship games since about 2007 and in all those games anytime Kerry play well, they play smart intelligent football, they all seem in sync and in tune with one another. I can't honestly say the same about Cork. Our style is largely a short handpassing and hard running style. It can look ok when played well, but looks awful when not performed well. It worked in 2010 because we had a team of athletes and leaders. It's a style of football that you can't really call intelligent, it doesn't take the highest football IQ to play that style.

An example I've seen time and again over the years and saw a few times again on Saturday is a simple thing like low fast ball into the full forward line and the comparison between when this happens with Cork versus when Kerry do it. For Cork the majority of times the Kerry back is right on the forwards heels, almost touching and this leads to alot of lost possession for Cork. Compare that to Kerry where there forwards seem to consistently be in 5-10 yards of space.
Is this purely down to the Kerry guys being faster? Or most likely again football IQ, knowing when to run, knowing where to run, knowing when the ball will be kicked and knowing how to find space and get separation.

Even on the management side when you listen to Eamonn Fitsmaurice talk you get the feeling he's got a smart intelligent football brain. I haven't felt the same about many Cork managers.

So overall, what if anything can we do the bring up the level of Football IQ in Cork football because it's sorely lacking compared to our neighbours.

Fast fullback is right it must be a nightmare to be a cork inside forward, last Saturday night Connolly got little ball . Slow handpass moments nobody wanting to take a chance with a kick pass, it was like pass the parcel. Cork players look like it all about stats some must have very reading of possion. The only stats at the end that matters is on the scoreboard.

I really question the purpose of the Junior Inter County Championship. There's little interest in it from a supporters perspective and you'd have to wonder does it ever serve up a player ready for the Senior team, other than players that would be in the picture anyway through the club championships and particularly, the Divisional teams participation in that.

It definitely serves a purpose in finding players who may not play at higher levels of football which receive more coverage. It's also a decent area to put players out of minor, u20 etc. to keep them training and playing at a relatively high level, when they're not quite at IC standard.

So from Corks team yesterday, there's a few fellas I would say shouldn't be there tbqh, but Harkin on the bench was promising u21 two years ago and could step up to senior with some conditioning and correct development. Ruairi Deane was flying for Cork the last day and he was on the 2013(?) Cork junior team. Kerry have used it to good effect in recent years for the same purpose - realistically, this year was probably the weakest junior team they've had in a while but they still had a number of fellas who were minor 2/3 years ago.

I said it in a previous post that Cork GAA, from a football perspective, should have a cyclical model from minor to senior over 4/5 years. Dublin had a similar 5 year plan and Kerry, as part of their minor success & Development centre are following suit it seems. I believe the junior team would be a necessary cog in that cycle but it needs to be used correctly.

If you use it correctly it can be a great avenue, but it requires a proper sensible approach.

10 of the players Kerry used in the league this year, had lined out with the Juniors previously. This is because Kerry made it clear that it would be a development pathway for lads. Some counties put zero long-term thought into it and basically seem to round up lads a week or two before a game.

There was 1500 in Austin Stack Park and it was a great game of ball.
The game in Pairc Ui Rinn last year was an absolute humdinger of a game.

I think it's a disgrace that the GAA aren't doing more to promote the Junior championship.

We had a great minor football team that were so unlucky to loose the All Ireland in 2010. Those players would be now in there prime. How many are now in the Cork set up either junior or senior.

Thoughts for Sunday?

Personally think our match ups in the backs and winning our pick outs are the two keys. It'll be interesting to see which of Spillane or Cahalane picks up Conlon with the other presumably picking up Duggan and O'Donoghue on O'Donnell. Is it possible Conor O'Sullivan gets a start after a good performance against Waterford?

Our forwards have shown they can cause wreck if good ball goes in. Would be keen to get Kingston on Jack Browne as we've seen with Cadogan that when you run at him you can cause him huge problems.

Should be a good one. Think it's gonna really tight but, like the first game, I would probably back our lads to see it out if it goes down to the last 5 minutes.

Why aren't we good enough in any level to beat Kerry? That's 3 in a row now this week with the Seniors Juniors and u20s all losing to Kerry. The ladies are flying the flag for us in football.

Kerry have excellent talent and great players and great people involved with their football teams but surely with a big County like Cork we should have the players too or do we have the right people involved to coach our teams? What are we doing different to Kerry in all levels? How can Kerry be so good in all levels against us? We have more choice with player selection with all the club's in the county but we nearly always fall short to our Kerry rivals. In all levels club and intercounty teams Kerry near always come out on top. Why can't we be on par with Kerry?

I forgot to give my tuppence worth about the Senior football result so I will here as we look forward to the hurling final!

I'm not sure what people were expecting but I expected us to get hammered and we did. What I hoped for was at least to go at them from the start until they took over. This is exactly what happened. Couldn't see anything else happening as Kerry are way ahead of us at the moment. I think the start we got shows there is some progress being made but it will take a big while longer yet.

As regards the final tomorrow I think we will win quite comfortably in the end. Baffling to me how Michael Duignan tips Clare to win. We have shown some great hurling this year and people keep underestimating us. What I have noticed is that we have different players playing very well in each match. One match is was Cooper then another is Kearney or Harnedy and so on. We just haven't put teams away fully and let them back in it.

Why I talked about the football first is to show I am not deluded and think Cork will win every match!

We just need a few more players on song and we will pull away. Don't get me wrong, it won't be easy at the start but I think we will run out winners by 5 points or more. Of course we need to perform first or we won't be winning anything.I'm not saying we just show up!

We just have more firepower than Clare in my view. I would have been more worried about Limerick had they got to the final. Against Clare I just think the match ups favour us a lot.

This may go completely different to how I expect it but I see a comfortable win. We will have to see.

Pressure is now off the footballers and surely they will actually play the next time- optimistic view.

Tomorrow has all the ingredients. Weather will be great, Thurles will be bulging and hopefully a narrow win for Cork. I think they will win a tight game.
