It's like deja Vu all over again.

I only saw from about the Boyle black card to just before the Durkan goal.
The part of the game that Mayo were poor.

I just can't ready anything into this team. The S.O'S injury is a worry because now both starting midfielders are gone.

People are suggesting the younger OConnor brother fit in there, will that work.

Massive turning point and stroke of luck with the goal yesterday but we rallied well to the finish by.
Fitness was well ahead of Tipp which is good to see especially as these unfortunate injuries are piling up. Top all round performance from AOS. McLoughlin pure class

In my opinion, if the goalie is going to be coming out like that, he better be sure the ball is gone and the man is left on the deck. A bad fumble tbh.

Without my old sources to watch the game back.

Am I being overly critical but I know it was a seriously good ball in but I thought it was a very poor goal to concede?

David Clarke should have cleaned ball and man out.

Just to be clear I mean Cillians striking of the ball was back to his best
Looks much more confident on long range frees again

Yes he didn't contribute as much from open play yday (way too deep ) but frees count as well .....

I think the ters 'a safe pair of hands' and ' safe pair hands' applies to Seamie. That calming influence that they both brought has been ripped from the team now but have to to say that Aido was excellent yesterday. Not looking to be the hero but stepped into the breach and did the dirty work, some amount of covering.

It's amazing who you meet in far away lands, but I actually bumped into someone from Mayo yesterday who told me the prognosis on Brendan is not good unfortunately.

I'm less concerned about the loss of Seamie than I am about the loss of Tom. Obviously we're missing Seamie's physicality in the middle now but I think the loss of mobility is more concerning. Midfielders need an engine these days, which is why Diarmuid O'Connor might be suited for the role. He runs all day and I thought his fielding was pretty good yesterday. Aidan is still far and away our best fielder so I think rotating him in and out of midfield is the best option as he doesn't have the gas to carry the midfield role all match. Who to put in the middle with Diarmuid, I'm not sure. Lee plays midfield with his club but I still think he's better running from the half back line. Don't know what the story is with Donie, but I also think he's better defensively. Stephen Coen, I'm afraid, is a little out of his depth at this level, so I'm not sure if he's an option either. So it's a bit of a head scratcher to see who can fulfill that role.

I thought Lee was very good today most especially when it looked like the game was going against us.

I'd like to see Leeroy and Diarmuid in the middle the next day against Leitrim.:)

Quite a bit of pessimism around here.

After flying out of the traps we turned over some amount of ball.

I found it bizarre that Ger Caff started ahead of Eoin O Donoghue who is an outstanding option and showed same when he was introduced.

Keith Higgins offers so much offensively but seems to give little thought to his defensive duties.He was never the tightest marker and doesn't enjoy too great a confinement to the menial duties that are the bread and butter of a back.:)He's too loose to sweep.

Boyler seemed to out of gas from the get go.

Seamie's injury looks bad,another terrible blow.

There seemed to be no rhyme nor reason to our defensive formation.Michael Quinlavin was so so impressive,too frequently left isolated inside one on one.

I saw the Tipp team coming in from the Thurles Sarsfield's car park,seriously imposing players.That lad in the middle of the park was very impressive.

I dissent on the general opinion re Cian Hanley,I thought he put in very good showing in the second half.

It was amazing such a fortuitous goal was the turning point but we did push on.Leeroy yet again was immense,ditto Aidan,Kevin Mc.When the chips were down these lads stood up.Our superior fitness was a telling factor.

Diarmuid is a serious option for midfield with his work rate as he has'nt been offering as much of a scoring threat in recent years.Doc put in a solid shift.Nice to see Conor Loftus nail that free.Maybe I was watching a different game but I did not think Cillian had such a bad outing.

We are in dire need of a free taker from the right side,unfortunately Evan Regan's cameo won't have augmented his confidence.

A soft draw would be ideal,enjoying the road trips.

Hopefully Donie and Brendan are edging closer to match fitness.

Good lord. How did he persist with Paddy Durkan basically playing full back against a lad a foot taller than him ? How did he even decide on that in the first place????
The substitutions were all bizarre too.
I've stuck with him till today but he has lost me now .

The Cian Hanley experiment has to stop. It's too soon for him .
Colm Boyle looked like a man running on empty from the start and looked happy to get a black. He was 5 minutes trying to get one .
Higgins was far far far too loose as a sweeper

Well great to get the win but midway through the second half i really thought we were goners. We were absolutely reeling and Tipp were jogging through us

But for the fluke goal would we have pulled away so easily? Im not so sure

Durcan showed brilliantly, and K Mc was my MOTM but huge credit to Doc too. AOS worked tirelessly.

Too many players off the pace and with no midfield we really need a soft draw badly on monday

Still hanging in there but as it stands would be surprised to see us in a semi

After watching the Munster final i think we may have created one heck of a monster last August. All the best in 3 weeks Galway...

For the first 55/60 mins Tipperary were far more clinical, dynamic and organised than Mayo....I genuinely thought we were on the way out.

Our full back line and midfield were getting annihilated. Quinlivan was impressive and we seemed to have no plan or personnel to combat him. Had to laugh at the Tipp goalie taking ages every time looking for a short kick out option when his midfielders were winning practically everything that came their way.

Our attack (after the opening flurry) was poor as well....the wrong option taken so many times.

But then a flukey goal and our superior fitness/stamina came to the fore. Tipp completed blew up around the hour mark...there was one attack (possibly for the first Keegan point) where I could see 3 Tipp players either on the deck or doubled over looking totally bollixed.

This team has huge heart and all that but not sure how far that will get them.

Higgins, COC and Boyle were seriously off form today...Durcan huffed and puffed a lot with not a lot of end product imho.

Was actually impressed with AOS today....when the game was in the mixer he won a lot of ball and drove the team forward without any of the fannying about and antics that he was carrying on with against Limerick.

And a final note....my 5 year old Limerick born son is now a major Mayo fan :-) He was completey swept up by the red and green fever in Semple Stadium today...great to see him getting into it

We looked completely devoid of ideas in the first half. I thought it was curtains. Any non-Ulster team in Round 3 please!

You must have been watching a different game to most other people. Durkan was excellent in second half.

Cillian was possibly the worst player on the pitch today. Don't think he touched the ball bar when taking frees.

Great performance from Mayo. Never let the heads drop, completely dominated after Duran's goal. It isn't luck at this stage.

Durcan and Hanley bring a bit of pace and physicality to the forward line. Not easily pushed aside.
