Problem is its a little more then that, its mindless zealots and they are a danger to themselves and others. They are only starting with intimidation now, but given time they'll escalate to something else.

Many pro life groups in the USA saw nothing wrong with a doctor being murdered in-front of his family while he went to church, they thought nothing of burning another doctors stables down and burning several horses alive.

They also thought nothing of bank rolling the legal defence fund for the guy who murdered the doctor.

These zealots have links to US pro-life groups, to them the ends justify the means and this is why they see zero issue with the graphic images.

I don't get the logic here. I don't think people are going in there to get abortions. They're making fools of themselves but I wish they would do it without harassing and intimidating women who are going through what can be a worrying time.

What they are doing is the norm in the USA and in some parts of the UK,
the group in question has US foundation so they are just copying what they do in the states.

I don,t agree with them picketing hospitals nor do i see the point/purpose of it. I think its a bit of a stretch to use the intimidation accusation against them, the reason why i say that it from various online videos of their various protests I don,t see them chanting any slogans at any of their protests nor have I seen them trying to physically block or obstruct anyone going about their business, in most the videos I ve watched they re just standing on a footpath somewhere with their banners.

Imagine seeing those banners if you are experiencing problems with your pregnancy? Where’s this great compassion that these people are apparently lousy with? And remember that some of the pro-life campaigning groups distanced themselves from the placing of those banners outside maternity hospitals in the lead up to the referendum? They do indeed have the right to stand there with those banners. And I have the right to consider them to be complete cuntbags for doing so. :cool:

I know somebody that recently went through a miscarriage, thankfully they weren't attending this particular hospital in Dublin but had they been this would have been deeply distressing to them. As it was they are in a very fragile place right now (understandably) and these people are just aiming to upset her more

Not only that but these scumbags also have video camera's strapped to themselves so they are videoing women and couples as they attend hospital, this is messed up

On the issue of them with the body cameras they said themselves in past FB posts the reason why they wear them is to protect them from accusations/harassment etc. When they gather outside a hospital they shouldn,t be allowed film people with body cameras as patient privacy/confidentiality has to be taken into consideration.

Data protection issue there filming people without permission. Its not some photographer doing street photography where it's part of a scene or just random people walking down some street.
This is people with bodycams protesting outside a hospital filming people going in and out of a it. Anyone has a right to go over and ask them to delete the footage and also to ask where and what the footage is being used for. Remember the order of hibernians going through footage from protests and trying to ID people from the images so they could get names and addresses.

It will never be allowed. That would be handing the personal details over to a private individual. Data protection commissioner should be all over that.

Her ‘20-point’ swing angle seems to hinge on the idea that pretty much all the ‘Don’t Know’s in opinion polls were going to vote no. But it seems the opposite was true. That undecideds might vote no in great numbers was an assumption many of us made but that’s all it was - an assumption.

As for Charles Byrne, I wonder what discrepancies he’ll be looking for? Surely he will need to explain his rationale? Dead people voting? People voting twice? A large number of ineligible home-to-voters? There will certainly be invalid votes falling under the last two categories but 500k worth? Doubtful. That’s nearly a quarter of the votes cast. It seems like he’s asking for a lot. DOBs of voters?

People do get removed from registers unfortunately. There can indeed be shenanigans there but that can go either way ie. known yes voters being removed. And that’s why people are reminded to make sure that they are on the register. I find vote-rigging cries so very desperate when the result is so decisive.
