I think Renault will be very happy to not have to supply Red Bull anymore. As for who should drive. If Kimi did retire at the end of the year I think Daniel Ricciardo to Ferrari alongside Vettel would shake things up a bit at Ferrari but also make it more interesting for the fans and be better for the team as well. Pierre Gasly could then go to Red Bull has he would have experience driving a car with the Honda engine that would be very valuable to the team so they could get off to a good start. Not sure who would replace Pierre Gasly at Toro Rosso do. I do however also like the idea of Daniel Ricciardo at Renault. Think he could could bring a lot to that team including motivation to do even better and get to the front of the grid.

Joeface wrote: » Possible yes , Given the same engine as renault in the Redbull car look at the difference . Honda were poor and at fault with Mclaren but given the demands of constant improvement over actual development from Mclaren and the constant public blaming game it was never going to work. Proof of that is look at Mclaren at the moment. Actually thought FP1 in canada they were going to be competitive but they were really far off the mark and spent a few races doing team mate tow to get into other rounds of qualifing ...that was the most embarrising thing when they were using honda and now they are doing with Renault . Honda have come on a leap and more should follow , Gasly said after Canada , he over took a Haas and a Force India on a straight and was not stuck for power. His race report said his tires were gone by the time he got behind the Sauber of CL . Is it a front runner yet ? Nope way off but it can be there for the start of next season. And Redbull been a Honda "works" team that does help them.

I was just making the point that after much expense, they pulled out prior to 09 season when they had the winning of the championship and previous to that they had the failed bit to enter in 99 or so where they knew they had a respectable engine already competing and they built and tested a chassis which was said to be competitive in testing. Harvey Postlethwaite who was running the show died and they then shelved the whole thing again no doubt at great expense and utterly wasted.
