Purely anecdotal, but all the good young Covies seem to be opting for GAA now (for a good few years) whereas Ballina are doing very well in the soccerball with a very talented young team. (Ballina were always pretty strong in football, the switch with the young Covies is much more noticeable).

It's about a 45 min drive for me so no excuses on that front....have been working hard to convince my 5 year old for the past few days that Mayo football is the best thing in the universe. Have him bribed now with the promise of a Mayo flag and chips :-) It'll be the radio for me unfortunately. A drive down to Achill for a 7pm kick-off means that'll have to do me. I've no such troubles with the young lad however. Once we got them out of Dublin a couple of years ago, we began the intensive cleansing (brain washing) straight away. He sings the Green and Red nearly every day... I nearly wish I was joking. His hatred of the Dubs isn't healthy for a lad who has just gone 4... but sure, would you have it any other way.
