Have the oven on for baked oats. Never had them before but have been advised they're like eating dessert from breakfast which is definitely something I can get on board with.

Late night big salad

VW 1

Made a lovely creamy mushroom sauce to go with chicken fillets and pasta for dinner. Made a soup with veg that needed to be used up, butternut squash, leeks, celery, carrot and onion and some soup mix to give it some body. Used ginger, cayenne pepper and coriander powder to give it a kick. Will do for the lunches tomorrow.

Nice, i used to make that ages ago. Try adding some fresh tarragon, if you like it.

A real rough and ready meal tonight of pork chops, chips and beans. A big glass of bainne to wash it down.

Bag of chips from the chipper shared with Mr W, extra salt on mine. Eaten with a slice of bread and real butter, Heinz mayo and some scallion. Washed down with a glass of cider and followed by some dark chocolate.

Lunch today was a Greek salad with quinoa and a humous/yoghurt dressing. It was really delicious!

A boiled potato rescued from the pan of vegetables etc I was cooking for stew when the gas died...

Been meaning to replace the spare, empty bottle for weeks. mea culpa

Dragged both cylinders to the end of my drive ie the crossroads with a HELP! sign... Neighbour-ferryman has to pass when he next goes to the pier and no way will I disturb them at weekend.
They have to carry them for me anyways.

I have microwave, and toaster.

When I was first here I was without power 5 months and gas stove 3 months. Have a small camping stove also so am fine. Just embarrassing!

Boiled Italian spuds in their jackets, Pork chops and mushy peas. Butter over the spuds. Didn't need any gravy/sauce. Two slices of bread and butter with a pint of bainne.

Family bbq this evening, burgers, chicken marinaded in soy and ginger, flat iron steaks, duck breasts, jacket potatoes, chicken a d bacon skewers

Couldnt move after that, well worth it!

Had Lamb with baked spud and swede . ... with lovely red wine, all served to me ! What a treat!

Home now with a glass of red wine and salt and vinegar kettle chips.. back to eating salads and lean meat tomo !!

Well, it is my considered opinion that Supervalu ready meals are not a patch on Dunnes' and are considerably dearer!

A disappointment but I will recover.... lol...

I agree completely. SV is a very overrated place when it comes to certain foodstuffs. I think it has gone downhill over the last two years. Not nearly as good as it used to be. My local SV is a dump.
