a parrasite lives in, or on, another organism of a different specie. a fetus is of the same specie of it's mother. therefore it's not a parrasite.

It is easy for No voters to ignore questions about rape, FFA, death due to needing an abortion, etc. until it is put in real context. What if it was someone close to you? I really do not believe that anyone would refuse to do what it takes to help someone close to them. I think in those situations, the 12 week limit would be forgotten about, and that they would be getting whatever help they could...getting them a flight to the UK or whatever to make things better.

Voting No was an attempt to deny women help. I don't think it was malicious by the majority of No voters. I think that some didn't understand the implications of their vote, others are selfish and can't think past their nose, others did it because religion has them brainwashed, then there are the some that just didn't think.

I was thinking of my wife, relatives, and friends when voting because I didn't want them to have no place to go in Ireland for medical assistance they may require.

Wow, I didn't realise that type of data existed. When it says 'booth', what exactly does that mean? In the station I was in, there were 4 desks to go to for ID depending on the voting card number. I don't recall seeing more than one ballot box though.

The placenta secrets a protein called neurokinin B (NKB) and found it contained the molecule phosphocholine, which is used by the parasitic nematode worm to avoid attack by the immune system of the host in which it lives.
This protein masks the foetus from the womans immune system and if didn't then their body would reject it. So yes you can say it is a parasite.

Ok, I was called out for thanking one of these 'parasite posts'. Well, as difficult as it was to write... here goes.

It doesn't matter whether a fetus is a parasite or not. What matters is that an unwanted pregnancy can feel like carrying one. The 'Alien' analogy certainly rings true. Having something developing within you against your will can mess with your head in very ugly ways, especially if it falls on the fertile soil of mental instability.

The time between discovering I was pregnant and the trip to Liverpool was the worst period of my life. I've been through a lot but nothing compares to that experience. Every single day was hell, physically and mentally. I had a foolproof suicide plan just in case I couldn't raise money before the appointment date. Can't even begin to imagine how it must feel in rape pregnancies, jesus christ.

I will never have children. I'm simply unfit to be a mother.

Wish my mother would take her own mental health into consideration when deciding to keep me. She passed this **** onto me. I'll do anything in my power not to pass it down further. The thought that I could unwittingly treat a child like I was treated, even for a minute, makes me physically sick. I was struggling with depression at 10, suicidal at 12. 12!

But sure, it's just 9 months, right? Doesn't matter that 3 months of pregnancy undid a progress of a good few years (yes, you can see your behaviour altering drastically way before you even take the test). Just get on with it and take one for the 'greater good' , right?
