Aer Lingus Fleet/Routes Discussion

The seat map for the B767-200 being leased by EI next year are available on the Aer Lingus website, the seating is 2,3,2 in economy (As was suspected) and 2,2,2 in business

There are 189 economy seats and 12 Business seats making a total of the reported 201 seats.

Anyone know whether the B767 will be repainted, partially or entirely, in the EI colours for the 6 months that its leased for?

There were major weather issues on Thursday due constant runway changes which messed up ops in Dublin.

A330's are picky and normally need 10/28 to depart, 16/34 is not workable unless the wind is straight down the runway and pretty strong

A quick and easy search of the Aer Lingus booking engine shows 4x weekly at Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

At least 2 are going to SNN, replace the 2 757 in Dublin gives you +8

Given the plan is to fly some EU/UK sectors with the A321lr it will solve the issue somewhat by getting the frame out of the way doing something useful

I used the app, which I find easier to use than the website even on a desktop. I'm rarely on the computer nowadays, in excess of 90% of my posts are on mobile.

Hello everybody,

Firstly, to the regular posters and readers of this forum, apologies for having to close the thread down for a bit, but the derailment got way out of hand and some cooling off was required. We have a great forum with super subject matter and most posters have no issue with following some simple guidelines which ensure its smooth running. It should be noted that we do however, have all sorts of levels of experience and knowledge which needs to respected, and most of the time that's not a problem, but not always.

To last night. To the 3/4 posters who argued with mod stuff on thread, nowhere on this site, bar feedback threads, is that permitted. Every time it derails threads and causes disruption. Another reason is that you only have snapshot which doesn't reflect the bigger picture, which is the situation here. The process for feedback on mod stuff is clearly outlined in the charter. Anything on thread risks sanction, including bans.

To the cause of the problem. @JCX BXC reading back on the DRPs you have been through with me, it is clear that your posting style has not improved at all, not just in the A&A forum but others as well, clearly pointing to you as a persistent problem poster. Too many of your posts end up being reported and this has now come to the attention of some Admins and I get the feeling that sitebans are now a real option. Your usage of the Report Post function to retaliate against others is particularly childish. You really need to start heeding the warnings in your DRPs if you wish to continue posting on this site.

Tel Aviv would be a good route from Dublin on the a321lr. There is a huge IT/VC sector there, business class would be pretty popular,, and connections to the US/CAN would be quite popular too. It's a hard place to get to from Ireland, and it has limited direct routes to the US due to distance.

Same opportunity for russian cities perhaps.

Indo business section claiming all 757s gone next year although elsewhere I'm seeing suggestions it'll only be the RR powered one and tbe PWs will be retained for another year as 321s arrive

Do we think EI will at any point trial using the 757s on any euro sectors as is planned with the new 321lrs ? As a test of the market for euro business and any operational issues?

It has been done, 757's have done DUB-LGW a few times. But thats an exception.

The A321lr will be a common type so from a cabin crew point of view no extra training will be needed. All EI crews are trained for the procedural airspace rules used and have CPDLC.

Have it on good authority that B757 will be making appearance on LGW early morning route soon, possibly a few days a week.

I understand it’s a separate crewing operation involving ASL pilots but it would be a good way of testing the market on city/business routes aswell as being able to assess the operational impact in time for the new LRs to arrive

Perhaps a bit of an assumption by the journo, expecting the first wave of A321LRs to be direct replacements.
The EI future fleet plan posted up previously (months ago) showing 3 B757 planned in service Summer 2019, and all gone by Summer 2020. From that I am assuming (brave of me) that the Q2 2020 deliveries will be the B757 replacements.

Also cancelled apart from Saturday. They even added an extra AGP in place when they changed on the Tuesday so guess any A320 slack mid morning will be tight.

FR were ages putting GEY on the Washington flight today (think they only did it after landing). Slightly over an hour late departure. Change of aircraft or tech problem?
