Pressure Washers -Hire or Buy

We want to give our driveway and house walls a good clean and we were going to hire a pressure washer to do it. They seem to be about €60 a day (one day would be enough). The cheapest karcher one is only €90 though. https://www.woodies.ie/karcher-k2-compact-pressure-washer-1089876

Does anyone know if that model is any good or would I better just hiring it?

I have a bosch electric I bought a good while ago which is a 1200 I think, its powerful enough to do the driveways no bother.

we bought my dad an entry level karcher last year and he just mentioned yesterday its not powerful enough to do the driveway, asked could he borrow mine.

also, the nozzles im sure on the petrol rentals must be WAY more powerful than the electric jobbies, so presumably the job would be a lot easier.

Its about volume of water not just pressure, if its just a one off then I would hire one, a petrol driven machine will clean much faster than an electric one for 90 euro.
If you really want to move stuff fast get a turbo nozzle they are very effective on hard surfaces, do not use on cars!

What about on pebble dash walls?

They will work on pebble dash but don't use it very close to the surface, as with all pressure washers you will have to figure out the effective distance from whatever you are cleaning, the further away from the surface the wider the jet and the bigger the area you cover which means faster working.

I would hire one if its only for one day. The hire one more than likely would be a more industrial machine than the one would buy at 90 euro unless you want to keep it and use it for washing the car. The last one I hired was a good machine but was worth about 1000 euro.

Nilfisk do a fantastic washer that can be bought on amazon and landed to your door for about 120 Euro C120

Outside of that its hard to look past the LIDL ones there are x2 offerings on this week on thursday a 1800W and a 2100W one, both are powerful enough for driveway cleaning and both come with nice extended warranties.

If i was you id just buy one, driveway will continue to get dirty 1 Hire doesnt clean it for more than a year.

Came on to make a post asking people about pressure washers and saw this thread...

Looking to buy a pressure washer myself.

I saw this one in b and q that seems to be good value, anybody any knowledge with it??

Itâ€™s 2200kw and 150bar. Itâ€™s flow rate is 5.5 l/min on the b and q website but checking other sites it seems to be a bit higher (7 l/min).
It seems good value at 110euro.

I have a K2 and it's grand for washing the car but it's hard work cleaning my (paved) drive, that job needs a power washer with a more powerful pump.
