Having seen how they operate, first hand, I refuse to support any charity in India. The Government there needs to get its act together. A country with nuclear capabilities, a space programme and many of the richest people in the world yet we send people and money to work with their poor. The international community has to stand up to them and bring pressure to have them mend their ways. And I don't accept that it's their 'culture'.

India is multi faceted. The countryside is radically different from the cities and we outsource to the cities. And notice how they are in fact demonstrating. Some regional police are suspect but the federal police will solve this. Hopefully these guys are jailed for life or get the death penalty.

You can't hold all of any people responsible for the acts of the few. There are a billion people in India, and the very, very, vast majority of them are as decent and good as any other people.

It's a huge and diverse country, and there are places that bear no resemblance at all to anywhere else in the country. It's not one homogeneous society or culture.
