4.10e/kg aibp bandon
4.15e/kg aibp cahir

quotes including bord bia
am holding tough as hoping for 4.25e/kg

Avg carcass weight - 388kg
1 > 30 months
rest were < 30 months.

before they left the yard, would have been content with avg carcass weight > 400kg

Its a fine margin game. The weather this spring and the whole backend of last year didnt help one bit. Spent more time looking for shelter than grazing.

have a few to go, I rang on tuesday to get them in by the end of the week and was told that they are fully booked up and cant kill till next week.

Agent was telling me allot of cows and cattle that are not fully fit getting killed at the moment, presumably due to fodder shortage.

Agriland talking about €3.90 - €3-95base for steers, the journal is giving €3.95-€4 so it looks good enough. Have a few to go here, was going to hold tight till the end of the month to see would they rise but as we know it could go the other way.

Prob got €4 a kg for him so in Feb. Don't think there was much more to be got for bulls. It's fairly handy to get a continental bull into a u when they are fed well.he probably had a good shoulders and top on him.

I'd agree . That was the day before I sold him and tbh I was disappointed in him, he was born a giant and super thick calf up to 5 months, he was going through an awkward growth stage and looking his worst when I sold him but wasn't holding onto one calf I let him rip , but he must have come good again.
