I'm Happy ,
Last few years iv realised all I have to do is have a positive outlook and then i'm happy, I don't care what anyone else is doing or has or what holidays or car's they bought anymore like I would have in my 20's
Now I focus on the little things that make ME happy and I'm happier than iv ever been ,
Having a wonder 4month baby daughter I wake up to every day is the icing on the cake,

Not sure how familiar you are with their teachings but basically if their date is wrong (it is) all of their other teachings fall flat on their face.

Sadly they've really dulled down the biblical study side of their religion over the last 10-15 years in favour of cult like love bombing and emotion manipulation instead. So half of them probably be won't even know what you're talking about.

Short answer - yes. Life has never been better for me. It's not perfect, but neither can it be - it's good enough, and that's good enough.

Focussing on what you have, rather than what you don't is the key to happiness imho! You should never let what you don't have, ruin what you do.

Happy Birthday Bambi. You closed your account but if you're reading just remember that not one single person has it all figured out and many just float through life full of uncertainties and what ifs. Even though we've never met and I know nothing about you I kind of envied your London lifestyle. I imagined it to be glamourous and filled with opportunity. We know what goes on behind closed doors, what fight others are engaged in.

Happy. I don't know about that word. It means the same to me as love, intangible and hard to articulate. There are moments where I feel ok but there's too much other stuff inside to allow me to be actually happy. If I lose a stone in weight will I be happy? If I had more money? If I wasn't tormented by anxiety regarding the future? If all of my ducks were in a row and the stars aligned and life became exactly what I wanted? For now though I'll make do with feeling grand. My favourite saying, It will all be grand

On balance, no I guess I'm not.

I fill my life with things that I enjoy and that makes things easier for sure. But it doesn't take away from the fundamental stuff: no family, no close friends, no relationships, no love, and a career path I'm far from happy with. I'm middle aged and more or less completely alone. I don't even have an 'in case of emergency' contact.

Some days I feel it more than others. Today was just somewhere in the middle.

Reading some of the posts here, tells me that whatever - I should be damn well grateful, so I am.

I'd love to offer words of wisdom to those of you suffering, but I'm hardly qualified. All I can say is that I hope you find happiness, and don't be afraid to accept it when it arrives. By which I mean, don't be concerned that it might be transient, or you're somehow undeserving. Everyone deserves happiness.

This is not really a happiness story, but as someone previously pointed out, its all relative.

There was a test question given to students, to see if they considered themselves lucky or unlucky.

Question was:
Imagine you are queuing in the bank. A robber comes in to rob the place, and fires a shot in the air to show his seriousness. The shot ricochets and hits you on the arm.
Are you lucky or unlucky?

Those who consider themselves lucky, said that situation was lucky (that they didnt get hit anywhere worse!) And those that think themselves unlucky think situation was unlucky (they got shot after all).

So same situation, and 2 opposing views.... The same can be true for happiness. Its how you choose to look at it. Hard to see a happy outlook some times. Its not easy, and takes lots of practice (and talking to others), but it can be done.

Right now, no. My health hasn't been great for the last while, nothing serious but a niggling complaint that has escalated in the last week. So sitting at home feeling sorry for myself. That said I heard of a very sad story about a person of my age who has been diagnosed with a terminal illness and is near the end. Hearing it kind of put the frighteners on me to be honest and, at the same time made me realise how eternally grateful I am for the second chance I get every day to try and live the life I want. As long as you have your health anything is possible. If I've learnt anything about happiness it is how futile it can be to rely on other people or even "life" to drop it into your lap. You need to try and engineer it to happen as best you can, even if on occasion it is just the small things.

Happy Birthday Bambi. You should never be sad on your birthday. Life might not be the way you want it to be right now but things can come good with time. Perhaps not by next year but maybe with the advent of birthdays to come.

I'm very happy. There are things I could change in my life but overall it's good. Health gone a bit wonky the past year as I'm about to turn 45. It's young enough to start some of these problems, then again now I'm dealing with them rather than toiling through them unawares like the past 10 years. I've had some bad years.
