Irishrebe, you're guilty of generalising about men as much as you are blaming Men™ for about women.

I've been in situations that I've felt threatened, by both men and women. It happens, regardless of your gender, and regardless of the gender of the person threatening you. **** sake, it happens, and the other person might not even know you are feeling threatened.

And ask any man, which would he rather get between, 2 men squaring off on each other, or 2 women? It's humans that have the propensity for great harm, not a single gender.

Have a look in your local paper. The one that reports on the local courts. Men are up for assaulting other men all the ****ing time. You think the average bloke isn't has nothing to fear, or less to fear than women? Claiming "my victimhood as a woman is greater than your victimhood as a man," is based on your past history clouding your judgement.

And the chats between women can be very bit as vile as mens. One night at a party, my wife showed my sister a picture of Jensen Ackles, and that started a 15 minute "pfwaorr"ing session, and included this quote from my wife, a regular Irish 30 year old woman (She's more than regular, I think she's the business, but you know what I mean), "I'd ****ing ruin him, he wouldn't walk right for a month." And she'll admit when she's chatting with her bestie, it gets graphic.

Lads get drunk at party.

Rugby lads more attractive to wans than most men so women are more likely to do something crazy with them. Something the vast majority of men will never experience.

Everyone has too much to drink, no one really has any idea what is going on but looks more consensual than forced based on the evidence of the holding the door open wan.

Woman in question feels used/regrets what happened, rationalizes (whether it was or not) that it was rape, because she did something that is frowned on by society in some shape or form.

Case gets pushed forward because some high end up people want it pushed.

The lads get their reputation destroyed, this woman gets her reputation destroyed and everyone loses. Another sad page in a sad story.

Lesson? Maybe people should listen to George Hook more and this kind of thing won't happen to people.

All i'm hearing in the last day or so is how there are rallies being held all over the country in support of the girl (and other issues ) and how this case will stop a lot of cases being reported.

In my mind it will also cause a lot of false reports to happen because some people would thrive on all this attention and controversy .

That's the danger.

Victim culture on women (#metoo, #Ibelieveher) makes women look for threats that aren't there and lads get destroyed as a result. Sad thing is is that it destroys the words of women who have been sexually abused and raped.

Equally, the woman has not proved that she was not lying. I’m not saying she should, I’m just saying that your logic in claiming that it was not a false accusation is equally applicable to make the assumption that she is lying. We don’t know.

I was in college in TCD with a load of these types and the atmosphere in the class was toxic.

I'm convinced that that period contributed in no small way to me becoming asexual in adulthood and I don't find men sexually attractive at all now.

This case and what has come out reinforces that belief. The only fault of the girl here is being stupid enough to sleep with such muck in the first place.

I see it more like how many lives could she ruin before being caught. The fact that she was believed so many times should be seen as the screaming bias towards women in such cases. Similar story with custody rights. Who gets the kids, the house, the dog?

People do things for all sorts of reasons. Some are just crazy.

Anyone who has worked in retail for any length of time will know how many ****ing lunatics there are walking the streets. Most are fully functioning people 99% of the time.
