Guys i have a friend who has asked me for some help, he has a dsl connection that he wants to use in his office but also connect up 4 air bnb apartments that he owns, the plan is to put a 5 port switch in a central location and then connect a wireless access point in each apartment
How can i do this and make it so his portion of the network is isolated from the rest?

Some routers have the facility to isolate the 'guest' Wifi section of the network.
That would seem to be what you need.

Do you have the ability to create multiple SSIDs? Is it a managed switch?Can you create VLANs?

I'd use Unifi. Install a Unifi AP in each apartment and setup a single "Guest" Wifi network for the Airbnb users. He can then setup up a non guest Wifi for himself. Also recommend you get the unifi cloudkey to manage. Simple, very cheap and extremely reliable solution.
