I'm really dismayed now that my part of the country got barely any snow. Aldi had all the lovely Mothers Day stuff in today and there's plenty of diggers lying about idle.

If capitalism was a fair system, we wouldn't have looting. It's not, so some members of the poor are going to take these opportunities when they come along. I wouldn't like to see it happen to a small business, but big greedy German companies that treat their employees like non-humans, timing their every move, spying on them (google it), fine by me.

What I'd really love to see is some looting and destruction of an Apple building. They owe billions and we can't even give sick or injured OAPs a bed in hospital when they need one.

I’m stunned by this incident. I think because of the amount of people complicit in it. A planned, covert robbery by a handful of scumbags would have induced a raised eyebrow in me but not much more. Nothing new or surprising there. But that a good gang of people so casually got in on the act is really quite shocking.

Though, in the digger-smashing-the-safe video, I guess some people not in any way involved or egging them on could have been filmed, if they just happened to be walking down the street. And then I suppise they might stop and gawp or wonder what was happening.

Yes - there's the slight matter of the structural integrity of the building, a big hole in the roof and some missing stock. And a missing safe and contents.

I went over to my elderly neighbour, asked if she needed a hand lighting a fire, asked if she needed me to to bring her over a dinner over the next few days, drop her over some milk or bread.... she had a lovely hot fire, Netflix, stew in the slow cooker. She came over that evening and played chess with my son because she was bored.

I work in tesco. I've lost out on 3 days wages because of this weather. If my store was wrecked like this I'd be f*cked. And we have a steady income thanjs to my husband.

We can worry about our income and still look out for those worse off than us. So shove that post up your hole.

Dont Lidl pay the living wage though? And your gripe is surely with the Irish government rather than Apple. Again id blame successive governments for the beds situation but you know this dont you?

I love this post for a few reasons.

1) The aggression, I can really feel it through the monitor.
2) The image of an old lady, not only watching Netflix, but playing chess with junior.

Seriously stop, right now. I've worked for supervalu, boots and Tesco. My cousin who's the same age works for aldi. He's already a manager, earning more than I could wish for in Tesco or supervalu.
They have targets for their staff, they also have a great wage and support them moving up in the company
The reason I don't work for aldi is because I want to sit on a till all day or deal with sh*tty customers for my wage. He works hard but the reward him for it.

I drove past her house on the day it happened, I could see in the mess they made and only found out later what happened. They still haven't been dealt with?!

While your Heart may be misguided I understand it’s in the right place. We need to offer these kids real opportunities. We need to make sure they are being parented properly. But we don’t need to smash the roofs off buildings with no idea of whether there is other kids in there or not. We don’t need to displace 30 odd jobs from an area with low employment.
The problem is a lot deeper than burning people in the streets or burning shops in the streets.

This is a starting point of the policies of Fine Gael. All you can do is try to get people in these areas to vote. No party will do anything for them unless they do.

They have, to the extent our justice system will alllow.
We pulled together and brought eva flowers, dinners, support and company. But these guys will be out in a few years and if they aren't killed by the people in our area, they'll be doing this sh*t again.

That's what I'm trying to say here. Theres no way someone hopped on a jcb or whatever it was, thrashed a lidl and robbed groceries. This wasn't their first offence. So at what point do we decide that enough is enough?

Its gone beyond that point now. Its lawlessness . Did you know there are groups in rural Ireland who patrol the town as there is inadequate police presence to protect them from burglaries etc.

The police are hit with scandal after scandal , have low morale and are not respected by the general population anymore.

Its every man for himself
