There were thousands of Russian army personnel stationed in Crimea naval base, how can you invade if you already there? The ethnic population is mostly Russian, not Ukranian in Crimea.

The Sevastopol base was a naval base. Not an army base or Air Force base.

So why did Putin say there were none? Do naval personnel drive APC’s, fly attack helicopters, drive tanks, use unmarked uniforms?

From what I remember there were no tanks on the street or helicopters flying overhead. There were the soldiers on the street to keep the peace. It known the Crimean people who speak Russian not Ukrainian did not like being part of Ukraine. The Soviet Union collapse brought Crimea into the sphere of Ukraine. There was 15,000 personnel stationed at the base. Sevastopol had special status because the people are not Ukrainian. The fact they welcomed the soldiers with flowers and chocolate and barely protested is evidence they did not see the Russian soldiers as the enemy.

The fact the Ukrainian government still allows the Azov Battalion to function as a protective wing of the Ukrainian government should worry most people who also hated the Hitler Nazis.

There was tanks , APC's ,and helicopter gunships as well as special forces troops on the streets along with Moscow backed militias and oddly russian biker gangs despite having no authority to be there ,
The Russians had a lease agreement ,

Russian attack helicopters flying into Crimea. And crimea is part of Ukraine, the fact 65% was Russian does not allow Putin to do what he wants.

I don’t know what you expect to prove using the Azov battalion as some sort of proving point. Russia has huge amounts of these groups, as well as a government who implements homophobic laws and discriminates against religious groups. If any anything, Russia is worse.

Crimea was part of Russia since 1945. It only returned to Ukraine after the Soviet Union collapse. Ukraine was not called that till then. Prior to that, the land was occupied by the Ottomans and Cossacks before that.

I see helicopters flying across a rural area those helicopters are not hovering over Sevastopol city. The video and pictures from the city only show soldiers.

The last video the Russians had already established themselves in the area for weeks. I never saw Russian tanks blocking streets in Sevastopol city. The people are ethnically Russian to say the Crimea people are Ukrainian and felt the Russians are occupiers is not true. They welcomed them with open arms.

You think Putin is the bad guy, yet the Ukrainian government actively supports neo- Nazis militias in its armed forces. Those guys tried to ethnically cleanse the Russians in the neighbourhoods that supported Putin. They are scum yet the west supplies these assholes with weaponry. Russia suffered more than nation when the Nazis attacked them, of course, they have a problem with new government of Ukraine and they not want Russian speaking people to suffer under this new regime.

Russia bans gay media shown to minors it does throw gay people into concentration camps or worse kill them off. Some states in America are also hostile to gay right. Putin discriminates against religious groups, like who?

Actually it closer to 65 percent an older census in 2001 had 58 percent. Only 20 percent are Ukrainian. Two times more people identify themselves as Russian so Crimea is more Russian than Ukranian.

Polls are not about population numbers is the statistic of people who showed up to vote.

Sevastopol is a port city, how would the helicopters get there unless they flew across a rural area.

The russian army were only in the port. They did not control the whole of crimea. It was an invasion of a sovereign state. This just shows you for what you really are.

Those groups were shelling cities and killing civilians. Citizens are on Youtube saying these guys are trying to murder us. The people Russia was protecting where citizens. Russia was not shelling in Kiev or other Ukrainian cities, it was fighting to keep the Ukranian army/ Neo-nazis out. The Ukranian passed a language law after the coup only Ukranian could be taught at schools. The Ukranian government tried to eradicate their rights.

Ukrainian government tried to stop self-determination by force. And frankly, it's disturbing the Ukrainian government uses Neo-Nazi groups to kill civilians who prefer to side with Russia. The people who are fighting are separatists, so it's not like the Ukrainian government is being picked on by Russia. If Russia drove its' tanks all the way to Kiev I would consider this an invasion. The people in Kiev do not want to part of Russia.
