So to kick it off a few mouth watering charts of the snow and cold potential over the coming days, stay safe.

Looking very windy going into Thurs night and look at those windchill readings!

Terrible incident. I hope this makes people realise how serious it is. The funny thing is, it is the people complaining the warnings are ott are the same people who would complain if there wasn't enough warnings.

Well I can report that I survived my 'Blizzard Trek' and I would say it's more like sleet that's being driven along.... and not really adding to what fell yesterday.

Suppose it'll turn to snow as it gets colder overnight but hope for Met Eireanns sake, it doesn't go the other way to rain

Snow most of the day in Galway city, lots more snow east of the city, Loughrea, Portumna etc. and with more forecast.

I think this has been some sort of inverse snow system in Cork. Snowing heavily close to the coast at sea level and nothing whatsoever on high ground in mid/north Cork. I know it's silly writing off an event before it really gets going, and the charts support wide spread snow, but I'm finding it very hard not to lose heart at the moment.

Everyone's getting a little edgy wondering if the bride will turn up to the altar, calm down, she's just a little late but on her way. Surprised we haven't seen more posts/photos from Navan/Drogheda/Ardee, the radar shows persistent snow showers there for a long number of hours. Interesting on the radar now that it looks like showers hitting the Wicklow coast are intensifying once the hit land.

Don't worry Emma is coming from the south/south east not from the east or north east. Forget about the last 2-3 days now.

Galway city has had constant snow all day varying between light to moderate.

Snowing pretty much all day in Athlone. We actually had a slight thaw at one stage as shown by the icicles that formed on the cars but there's ice forming on the thawed glass and snow is sticking to it again.

I've never seen snow like it around here before.
