PUBG on Xbox [preview program]

I thought it would be a good idea to have an Xbox specific Player Unknown's Battlegrounds thread.

Since PUBG on both Xbox and PC are in beta having one thread with multiple issues/feedback on 2 platforms could get messy. I hope the mods agree.

I have played the game for a few hours now. Mostly duo mode. The first thing I noticed was in my first game the graphics didn't look great. However from the 2nd game onwards it looked good. I am assuming there is probably some map content being cached so when you play it again it looks better.

The frame rate has been solid. I am playing on the OG Xbox One until I get back to my One X tomorrow.

It took a while to get my head around it after playing it on PC. There are a few short cuts on the D-pad that you should get used to.

I recommend upping the sensitivity to all the way to 10. It can feel sluggish until you do this.

*Be careful creating your character. If you back out of the character screen it saves the default as your character. You can then only change your character by using 3,000 BP to change it again. BP is the in-game currency. You can buy crates with it that award you with cosmetic items.

Get 2 decent weapons with a good load of ammo and maybe a medi kit or 2 and you are sorted.. I never feel the need to loot unless I have a bad load out

Got my 5th solo chicken dinner just there. The sweet spot for me seems to be an M16A4 with 4x and an AKM. Fairly easy to get.

After that, I don't get caught up trying to get other stuff. I killed a guy right by an Airdrop and didn't even bother trying to loot him or look in the crate. That's when I would get picked off.

I did not know that! Thanks. My try a few games with my wifes gamertag and see if its easier.

stop moving, crouch when shooting. makes a huge difference- look at the crosshair - the further apart the little lines are, the more inaccurate it is - play around with it and watch the lines move wider apart as you toggle different ways of aiming and moving. also - fast sensitivity is not always best- there's no point in being able to turn fast if you constantly overshoot the target.

Dipped into some third person last night, as we primarily play first person. As soon as I landed to loot I switched to first person. Ended up playing out the entire match in FFP and we went onto win it. Did notice that a lot player we came up against didn't seem to have a clue where they were being hit from when we were shooting at them.

If only you could record voice chat when recording a clip. We gave this lad some death. He must of thought we weren't playing with our headsets.

Got my 4th solo chicken dinner last night, but as always, I had luck on my side.

At one stage, going into the last 10, I was getting shot by somebody and had no clue whatsoever where they were. I managed to circle around and get my health back up. After that, I was just very lucky that the circle favoured me and I didn't have to move much. I shot one guy who was stuck outside the zone, then when it was down to the final 3, I could hear the other two guys going hard at each other. When it came to the final 1 v 1, I killed the other guy almost straight away. He must have been seriously messed up from taking on the other guy.

The funny thing is, I don't think I've ever had an amazing loadout when I've won. Usually something common like an M16 gets me through.

Got to 6th last night and was well chuffed, next game got killed mid 80s by a combination of an unarmed guys punches and a guy with a sickle, whilst I had a shot gun!

Loot by pressing start when you find loot (rather than aiming at an item and trying to pick it up).

Press start to open the inventory. Move into items you have by pressing the right bumper, go to the item. If you press A and you have a weapon the thing can fit onto a space in your weapons on the right will change colour. If nothing happens you have no compatible weapon.

Not all parts will fit some weapons, if you press start and go to the attachment you want to add to your weapon, press x and it should show on the weapon side a faint box over where the attachment will go, double click the x button and it should put it there automatically

if you press start when looting, then hover over the attachment and hit A, it'll attach them (not all attachments fit all guns).

Yeah, past a certain distance, the grass doesn't render. Unless you're behind a tree, they'll be able to see you sticking out like a sore thumb.

Well I bit the bullet and downloaded PUBG last night. Played 3 times. Best I did was about 64th. In that game I thought I was in pretty good shape. Landed in a safe enough location, found some decent guns and a helmet. Was camping out aiming at the door of the house I was in. First guy through the door kills me with one shot after I miss him about 5 times.

Great game and stupidly tense considering you can be sitting still for minutes at a time!
