Tennant would be good alright, and he's shown he's happy to try his hand at all sorts of stuff. There's a batch of genre mainstays like Ian McShane, Ciaran Hinds, James Purefoy and loads of other of the likes that pop up in these things that you'd imagine will crop up at some stage.
