Out getting supplies for snowmageddon at the moment - people (not me) are starting to panic buy here, lidl shelves were getting stripped of water, milk, ping pong balls, crochet sets and digital micrometers.

I hate the bloody cold weather, thought we were finally done with it.

Hope this turns into a non-event...So people actually don't have an excuse to not go to work. Which is mainly what most of them want.

As for stripping the shops of bread etc, I have no words for that.

I'm currently in a country where it snowed all day, temperature is -12.
My boyfriend is in Finland, -22 tomorrow.
Life, work etc will go on as normal.
I was in Slovenia 2 weeks ago, left the airport in a snow storm, 3 or 4 feet of snow everywhere. Life, and flights went as normal.

To be fair, there are currently over 2000 people viewing the weather forum (around 4 times as busy as AH), so they've got lots of posters who aren't used to the general tone of the forum diving in with AH-style posts. It's like a pub on Christmas Eve when every bastard and his mother walks in the door, and the regulars can't even get near the bar to order a pint.

For the regulars over there, weather is their hobby and diving in to take a poo all over that seems somehow wrong to me, so I keep all my stupid and facetious posts (which, unfortunately, is all my posts) for AH.

Some ****ing eejit just left the apartment block door (2 metres away from my front door) open for the last 30 minutes and it's about -10°C outside, how stupid can you get? At this hour if I hadn't gone out to check it probably would have been open all night

They are countries where it makes sense to invest in keeping the country running in snow as it is definite that it will happen every year. It’s not a comparable situation.
