What I was asking is if the tar remover had any effect on removing the residue and if the ghosting of the signage was only removed by polishing?

I had 2 bottles of AG tar remover and we used that on my brothers van, but we knew we were polishing afterwards anyway so I wasn't too concerned if we were a little heavy handed.

My own car is black and has about 2 years of tar on it. I'd rather not polish it afterwards if I can avoid it but there's just so much tar that I think a polish is going to be inevitable. I need to get some tar remover now anyway so I think I'll try the Car Pro Tarx.

Any joy with tar remover? Personally I wouldn't have thought so but interested to see what you thought.

Just a follow up on the van signage. Tackled it over the weekend, used a medium foam pad and medium polish on the DA and it took care of it very nicely. Started with the medium pad and finishing polish but that was not doing the trick so stepped up to the medium polish.

Then we had to do the whole van. I say we, but my brother did the vast majority of the polishing. First time doing paint correction on something painted white. Was interesting compared to my own black car.

Savage, I'm looking to get my wife's 2008 jazz paint touched up, polished and sealed probably late March.. Also complete detail inside.. Seats cleaned etc.. Let me know when you up and running

Yeah you are totally correct. Talking to a friend the other day who has a car covered in swirl marks.
I was offering to help him tidy it up a bit but he didn't care and said the person he potentially sells it to won't care either.

I think it's fairly safe to say that 98% of people will buy a car that suits them and won't let how it's washed deter them as they would probably wash it that way themselves. It takes a lot more time (and therefore money) to wash a car properly and since it makes no difference, they just do it the easy way i.e. brush.

I'm happy enough to be part of the 2%

Anyone try the Sonax range of products ? I have tried the Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer (BSD) and would highly recommend it! Applied over 2 weeks ago and have carried out 3 maintenance washes since and its still holding tough. CLICK HERE FOR IMAGE

All tar removers will remove wax which is why you need to only use it when you plan to reapply LSP.

I use Gtechniq W7 and CarPro Tar-X. Both very good products and I can't decide which I prefer but the only thing putting one above the other in any way is that the CarPro one smells really good

While I am at it, what's everyone's favourite tar remover and their preferred method of removing tar.

Let's pretend I don't want to polish the car after removing it :pac:
