It wouldn't make sense to have a spur off the Limerick-Ennis line as it would just increase journey times to a ridiculous extent. Only realistic alignment would to be to put in a new line running via Shannon and not via sixmilebridge, but the cost of that would be into the billions.

It cost approx 10 million pounds per km of train track in the UK, so surely we could manage to connect Shannon to Limerick for under 100 million euro. Anyway, a train would be nice but hardly a priority. It would be great if a study was done on this for a few years down the line. For now I would be happy with better/cheaper bus connections.

Air traffic controllers told to work beyond overtime limits by union (Independent) Air traffic controllers have been told by their trade union to work beyond agreed safety and fatigue limits because of staffing shortages in the control tower at Shannon Airport. If controllers refuse to go along with the union and Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) deal to extend the overtime limitations it could lead to staff shortages and potential disruption.
