MOD NOTE:
Its good to see healthy debate and discussion taking place and I am sure every supporter of cryptocurrency and blockchain can agree that the contrarian viewpoint is worthwhile reading, if only to act as an anchor and help prevent investors from getting carried away in an echo chamber of "everything is wonderful, just keep going"

However, there have been a few reported posts recently which I did not action as I wanted to see the thread level out itself rather than start forcing viewpoints and I have been in two minds about that decision.

I'm not going to single any posters out but I'm going to ask that all posters read the forum charter and I want to point out that it was established years ago in the Television forum, that dropping in on a forum to tell the followers of that forums topic (in that case a particular tv show) that it was all crap and only idiots watched it etc etc was the exact definition of being a dick and attempting to troll. I know this because I was the mod of the forum at the time. Now look at the forum charter again.

There is pretty much one rule on this forum : if you cannot discuss in a civil manner, and I mean discuss, not soapbox or attack, then you have absolutely no business posting here and I have no qualms about removing your ability to do so.

This forum is for people that have in interest in cryptocurrencies, blockchain and their application to financial investments. that can be positive or negative but if you really feel the need to start pulling out memes / hiding insults in imaginary hashtags / attacking personalities or just generally being a dick there are other forums you can post in where I will let the local mods determine if it is within the scope of allowable behaviour. Here, it is not.

For fuçk sake!! (excuse the language but it's irritating) I'm all for different view points and debate. I'm all for dicussion of the pros and cons of crypto currency and the blockchain, but.....

Please enough of the one liner FUDS with no discussion or debate to back up the claims.

There are people on here that have made 4, 5 even 6 figure sums from crypto currencies and I for one am ****ìng thrilled for them.
Some ordinary Joe Soaps that took it by the balls and made life changing money ... if they had listened to some of the crap spouted in here back when they took their calculated risk they wouldn't have got anywhere.

There's a good post floating around about the Do's & Dont's which is very good, and if followed won't see many people burned, so what's people problems with others trying to better themselves and more than likely their families lifes by getting into crypto currencies? ..or is it just jealously from a few that maybe feel they've missed the boat, or didn't follow their own Do and Dont's and got burned!?!? .... Cause I'm struggling to understand some of the citric vibe from a few in here?

I could say cash everything out but than the market may shoot up so there is no right or wrong answer. Play around with what suits you best. If the loss will badly hurt, than cash out and if not than take the risk as the market may go up again in new few months.

The difference is that 2 months ago most coins were on an upwards trajectory and now they are on a downwards one. In a few days you might have a to zoom out a bit more and talk about 3 or 4 months ago to keep saying the long term view is positive.

I’m not in any way claming I know what will happen, there could be a rebound. But for sure gauging the situation is not just about market value but also about current trajectories and from that perspective the situation is different from what it was 2 months ago.

Similar enough, though not that serious losses as my total investment isn't so big. Certainly holding onto all of the alts that I find attractive long term with the expectation that some will get wiped out and others may do well. I'm also keeping some fiat on Kraken with an eye to investing again once things settle out. I wouldn't be surprised to see a correction to late summer / early autumn levels last year and think this could actually be a good thing and provide a platform for more steady growth going forward. Pure speculation as a crypto-noob though.

That's also my tactic, I dont think people can hold off much longer before selling even if it is at a loss
