I'm saying seat wear does not relate to mileage. It's just one of those things we're programmed to think without ever questioning it. One of my cars had 30 odd k miles on it when I bought it, the seat bolster was properly knackered and on more than one occasion somebody commented, based on this alone, that the mileage must be doctored. I have every single invoice and MOT from new to confirm the mileage - The PO just did a lot of very short trips, sliding in and out of the car without going anywhere.

The steering wheel in Mk4 Golfs usually doesn't wear high mileage very well, but that looks pretty good above (a good sign imo)

Note the trade plates on the passenger side footwell.

April 2010 was the last new 1.9 Passat regged. There were 500 odd in 09 and only a handful of stragglers in 2010

That must be among the last of the 1.9 TDI? For some reason I thought by 2008 at least, the Passat was 2.0 TDI and later (2009?) 1.6 tdi too

The bxe conrod issue is relatively easy to prevent. There is more expensive issues with those 1.9tdi's like hg failure and camshaft wear.
